Hah!!!! NOT YET! For those of you wondering, Hannah and Ben are planning on "giving" Santa their binkies for Christmas so that he can give them to the little babies.

We visited that Santa with my mom and dad. It is an annual thing that she does with all the grandkids at her work and she insisted that she did not want to be the bad guy. (Funny thing is, she is the ONLY one that gives me any grief about the kids still having the binkies)!

But....drum roll please.....we will be visiting Santa again on Saturday. And we have the calendar up and have been talking about it. They are prepared. I will give you an update then!

Thanks for asking. It will be rough. Really. Really. Rough.

Kate, that is exactly what we did with Caroline and it worked great!! It was a nice thing to be able to remind her as well when she asked for them. If you want more details about how we did it, let me know. But the giving to Santa thing really worked well. Good luck!

Oh and one thing I did was Christmas Eve after she put all her pacis under the tree, I threw them all away! That way I was not tempted to give in to her and I could really say we didn't have them anymore. :)

I have to figure out the logistics but literally, we will be giving them to Santa when we see him. So we just need to make sure one of his elves takes the bag and trashes it!!!

Well I have to confess that I planned on stealing Kate's idea. I went through explaining it to Ryan and he was in agreement. That same day at nap time he picked up all the pacis in his bed and gave them to me. He said he didn't need them anymore. It's been about 3 weeks now and he's fine. Kate I think you will be fine. Ryan had a MAJOR paci addiction and if he did so well then there is hope for your two!

I did have to give him his exchange present from Santa, but it was just a little CARS diecast car I had stashed for emergencies. He was so excited. Good luck on Saturday and let us know how it goes. Definitely throw them away or you will be tempted to give them back.

MINE STILL HAVE THEIR PACIS AND I AM NOT SURE WHEN WE WILL BE ABLE TO GET THEM AWAY FROM THEM. DS USES HIS AS A SECURITY BLANKET BUT THEY ONLY GET THEM AT NAPS AND BEDTIME AND SOMETIMES IN THE CAR IF THEY ARE REALLY REALLY WINY AND THE LITTLE PEOPLE CD IS NOT WORKING.

See, I want to save their presents for Christmas and they have been asking for a pirate ship and a princess toy for months now. I think I have to go to Target and get them something else to give them on Saturday (Ben wants a Davy Jones action figure, yes, we are Disneyland junkies; Hannah wants a Cinderella doll, maybe a Barbie type doll?). AaarghhhH!

I would just get them something small. If they are at all like our kids any new toy is cause for celebration.

It's worth a try but I would DEFINITELY ask for more than a toy in return! ;)

I like this idea, but wonder if it would make Christmas Eve/Christmas night rough this year. Mine just turned 2 Friday. I'm expecting to have a couple rough nights when we do take the binkys away. How old were yours and how did the first few nights go?

It was with my oldest DD and she was 3. So she was a bit older, she turned 3 that Oct. and we gave them to Santa that Christmas. I don't remember it being really rough to tell you the truth. We just reminded her they were under the tree for Santa, we wrote him a a note, and she seemed okay with that. She has always slept with a doll too, so maybe that helped. But I don't remember it being really difficult that night. She did ask for them for a few nights but we just told her we didn't have them anymore that Santa gave them to babies that needed them. That was good for her, although we had to tell her this several times, but she was satisfied with it. And Santa did leave her a special present so after Christmas we could remind her that he left her that to thank her for her pacis.

That is why we are giving them to Santa ahead of time, instead of on Christmas Eve. I also want the kids to have the tangible evidence of giving them to Santa.
