YAY!! I want to announce the birth of our twin daughters, Karli Mae and Tenli Lynn. They were born August 1 at 7:17pm and 7:19pm. Both of the girls weighed 5lb. 15oz. and were 18 inches long. I had them at 36 weeks 2 days and was so fortunate that they were able to come home with us!!! The pregnancy couldn't have gone better (except for the misery of it).

On D-day I woke up feeling crampy in my low back around 4am. I told my husband that this could be the day...although I was kinda doubting it. He told me to stay home from church and that he would take the kids. He wanted me to get some rest. Yea right! I said, I'm not staying home alone so I'm going to church too. Well, the entire time I was having contractions and they seemed about 10-15 minutes apart. My back hurt continuously, but my stomach would tighten every 10-15. So during the service I told him I think we better go get checked out after church. So afterward we dropped the kiddos off at mom's and did a very quick maternity photo shoot :) and left for the hospital. When we got there I was 4cm (previously 3) and 70% effaced. And...my contractions were every 2 minutes, not 10-15 like I thought. I was wierded-out by this because I wasn't even in that much pain. I got my epidural pretty quickly and they were off to break Tenli's water. But when they broke the water, we lost Karli (B's) heart rate in the monitor. They quickly brought ultrasound in and realized that Baby B had just flipped breech!!! I was very bummed. The Dr. then said we had a decision to make. Decided to try vaginally, thinking they would deliver A and try to flip B. They said they were not willing to deliver breech. So after A was born (Tenli) I was pretty nervous. They broke B's water (Karli) and didn't even have time to try and flip her....she was coming out butt-first!!! It took less than a minute and a half and they were both here. Tenli came out head-first and Karli came out butt-first and mommy didn't have a single stitch or tear or anything!! What a great recovery it has been! From the time they wheeled me into the operating room to the time I was back in my room with both babies in my arms, 20 minutes hadn't gone by. VERY FAST!!!

They are both very healthy and beautiful! Karli had a bout of jaundice and had to be on a biliblanket for a few days, but overall....they are PERFECT little MIRACLES!! Couldn't have asked for anything more.

I was amazed at how quickly I felt better after they were born....like the second they were out, I could breathe!!! So if you are almost due and feel like you can't go on any longer. It is INSTANT relief!!!

It's been great encouragement being a part of the expectant mom's board and I thank everyone for their advice and support. SEe you in first years!
