Album - First trip to the Gulf of Mexico

I just wanted to share pics from the boys very first trip to the Gulf of Mexico. Yes I know, I live in FL and should be a regular beach goer but as you'll see I'm pretty pale. I prefer colder climates and snow .

I had a couple of helpers with me so I did one baby at a time in the water and my dear friend was taking the pics while her daughter was holding the other one under the tent.

They were both very cautious and a little scared of the waves crashing at their feet. They loved playing in the sand though!

HAHA, thanks. I've always had sort of smaller frame and I'm 5'9" tall so it makes a difference. But my butt and thighs would tell you otherwise, which is why I was wearing board shorts...lol.

And thanks everyone. The boys did have fun just not in the water...lol, it was scary to them. The water wasn't as calm as it usually is. I live in a beach community, home to one of the US's most famous beaches being Siesta Key which everyone refers to as the "Florida snow" since it's the only beach with white sand.

I'm sure we will take them to the beach more frequently as they get older but DH and I aren't big beach goers ourselves and since these little monkey's arrived we don't have the freedom to go out west where the mountains and snow are and that's what we really love. Hopefully one day!

We started taking our guys to the beach this year; it took them a few times of going for them to get comfortable in the water, but now they love running through even the big waves on Lake Michigan!

 

sooo darn cute...thx for sharing....My hubby wants to take the boys to the beach soon, but I am skeptical about it....they like to run all around, never sitting still...but we'll see...and you look great...

 

My boys move around a lot too I can't keep them still to save my life. When you go make sure you go with helpers. If they've never been in the beach water before, especially when it's real choppy, then they will probably sit still and maybe do what my kids did and cry a little. I wouldn't worry to much about the running around. Oh and Sports Authority sells this great tent meant for places like the beach. It's 6' by 6' and 4' tall. It has a canopy shade over the top and another that folds down over one of the sides to block out the sun. I loved it! I tried to find a picture of it from their website but couldn't.

Thanks I like that one too. My boys can be so expressive.

Oh Lake Michigan, I would love to take the boys up there. Where abouts (if you don't mind me asking) are you near? All of my family is from Michigan so I am hoping that once the boys get older we can take them up there so I can show them where their Mommy spent her summers

 

I live in the Detroit area, but my ILs are in Grand Rapids so we went camping at PJ Hoffmaster near Muskegon. My mom also had a cottage north of there (near Whitehall) but the little so-and-so sold it this year. I'm hoping to take the boys to Holland before the summer is out.
