Hi my name is Andrea and I am the mommy of beautiful 7 month old B/G Fraternal twins.

Bentley Ann was born first 14 weeks too soon on 4-5-07 she weighed 1 lb 14 oz and was 12 inches long. Her younger brother Brandon James was born 5 min later and weighed a whooping 2lbs 2 oz. We spent 78 days in the NICU and we faced many issues throughout our stay (kidney stones, Chronic Lung disese, heart murmers, brain bleeds, hearing loss and that's not counting all the regualar preemie stuff)

Our little girl was the fighter at the start and pulled her venilator out after 3 days, she went on to a nasal CPAP and stayed on that for about 4 weeks. She went on the nasal cannula and didn't get rid of that till about 3 days before we took her home. She had very bad lungs and pretty significant hearing loss. Currently she is 11.5lbs she rolls over eats soilds 3 times a day, sits up on her own, is trying to crawl and sleeps through the night.

Brandon started off with more problems than her. He was first put on an ocilating ventilator for 8 days and then moved to a regular vent for 4 weeks. He also suffered a mild brain bleed and kidney stones from the start. After the vent he went directly to the nasal cannula and was able to have that removed after 2 weeks. He was always a better eater. He is currently 14.2lbs and is doing all of the things his sister does except sitting up.

They were both on diuretics for a long time because there lungs were very full of fluid they had the survactant shots for their lungs.

That's our story. I'm looking forward to sharing many more milestones with you all!!!

    Andrea
