Hello, I'm new if you cannot tell!

I've been looking all over for a good Twin forum to look up info and ask questions if needed. This one is by far the best I've seen! The information I've read is SO helpful! Thank you to all you ladies who have contributed.

I'm almost 31 weeks prego with ID girls after trying for only a month! My doc just told me yesterday to be expecting them around week 36. So naturally I'm getting nervous. If they stay in their current head down position we are going for natural, although my doc has scared me saying if baby B turns after the first we will have to do C/S.

Anyway! It's great to see so many helpful people supporting Twins! <3

I am alomost in the same situation as you excpet I am 27 weeks along. They are both head down and would love to try for a natural birth. My doctor said the same thning and she has me scheduled for a c-section on July 15th in case they move positions.

And congrats on getting this far, hope it's been a smooth pregnancy and that you're feeling good.

Can't resist sharing my $0.02. Please take this with a handful of salt.

I had a natural birth with my twins, also MZ, but di-di. So, I'm a big fan of vaginal twin birth, and know how hard it can be to get one. You'll need some luck, good providers and a lot of will.

From what I've heard, it's rare for Baby B to move from a head down position. Not impossible, but rare.

If you're interested in a vaginal birth, ask around now. How many twins has your doc delivered vaginally? See if a L&D nurse can tell you what your doc's, practices' and hospital's rate of twin vaginal birth is. My hospital has an 80% twin c/s rate, which is one reason I choose a homebirth (after parallel care with peri, everything was right for birth at 39 weeks with an amazingly experienced midwife). Or join your local twin club and ask around. Did anyone have a good birth and with what doc/practice/hospital. Changing docs is scary and a pain, but could be right for you. It'll make a big difference in your chances for a vaginal birth and in your experience.

Finally, are your twins mono-di? That's sometimes considered a reason to deliver early. If di-di, 36 weeks sounds early. Will your body be ready? Inductions sound tough. See if your doc will push the date back a bit. Every day your twins get to grow is good!

    Best wishes!

Thank you everyone for you welcomes and hellos!! :yahoo:

Gena thank you for the advice! I always love getting new information or ideas from Twin mums.
They are Mono-Di the only concern I've seen him show is that I measure a little bigger than normal w/ twins. I've asked around as well as my mother works in the same office as him and he's delivered twins several times and seems to know a lot of what's going on. BUT my husband has been wanting to ask around and see what other options or info is out there.

I'm still learning about all this and it's sometimes hard to even wrap my head around what's going on or could happen. I did tell my dr that if we can do it past 36 weeks I would like to try and that I am more than willing to try natural birth. He seems to comply and just warns me that if complications arise I should be ready.

It is comforting to hear that it's rare for baby b to turn and I hope that it does not happen. Im delivering at the hospital that has the best NICU/specialist care in my area. After speaking with the hospital and learning about some of their doctors it sounds like most will not deliver baby B vaginally if it turns. SO cross my fingers.

Thanks again for the warming welcome! <3
