We have been trying to transition totally to sippy cups. Lately we had been sending cups and bottles to daycare and asking that they use the bottles only if the girls would not drink out of the cups. In the morning we still gave them a bottle before leaving the house. Well, this weekend we used ONLY the cups! They did great! :) So today we sent only cups and they did great again! I'm especially proud of Hannah who held her cup all on her own tonight at supper and drank most of the milk in it! (She has motor skill problems particularly in her right arm due to CP and sometimes needs a little bit of help to get it tipped enough) :)
(We're using the Nuby cups with a soft spout, it's the only ones they will drink out of as of right now. Hopefully soon we'll be able to get them to drink out of the harder spouts that aren't as similar to a bottle)

    That's great. Wtg girls.
I had to start my son off on the nuby sippys too and eventially transitioned him to a harder spout sippy. It's great that they are using a sippy now.

 Way to go!!! And :yahoo: to Hannah for holding her own! Nice!

My dd would only use the soft spout nubys at first, but they'll go to the hard ones soon. :good:

    That is great news!!

We started off with the soft spout ones too. I would occasionally bring out the hard spout cups, and started using them when they showed an interest.

    Great job!

Just a thought, instead of hard spout sippies, you may want to use straw cups, especially for Hannah due to the CP. Straw cups are more beneficial for speech.

Thanks, after posting this I think I read that somewhere else too. We are going grocery shopping tonight so I'm going to check out the straw cups. I guess I thought they were for older kids. I think that my help with the tipping issue. My husband says I just need to teach her the concept of leverage, lol.
