    Last night was horrible!!!!

We got settled and ready for bed about 10:30 and after about 30 minutes Seth woke up. He has SOOO much gas and the mylicon drops just don't seem to work. So he was really fussy...well we ending up being up until 3 am! He cried until he woke Hannah up and then my husband did not want to get up to help me (he was TIRED) why are men so wimpy!!!!!!!

I have managed to get about an hour nap today but I am SOOO stressed and tired! What can I do? Is this normal?

This is very normal. My boys were up every 2-3 hrs to eat/poop/sleep even at 2 months let alone 2 weeks! Hang in there, things will get better soon.

Have you tried putting him on his belly on your lap? That seems to help here! Good luck!

That is completely normal at 2 weeks! Just hang in there and do the best you can to get through - let him sleep in a bouncy or swing or something if it helps him. It got a lot better with mine around 5-6 weeks - that's when they really could be counted on to go to sleep at night and then wake up just at 12 and 3 and then 6. Makes a world of difference!

Yeah, sounds pretty normal. I've had nights like that. Thankfully it's not every night!

The funny thing is, men really are wimps when it comes to babies! Let's see, between my DH, the two grandpas, and the 5 uncles, only one isn't squeamish about diapers, baby farts, spit up, drool and slobbery baby hands. That's one of the grandpas! My brother who is, shall we say, about as hard core as they come, loves heavy metal, and the most violent video games and movies. One of the babies farts while he's hold him and he freaks out!! It was so funny! :rotflmbo:

Sorry I don't have any advice really, but I hope tonight goes better for you and you get a chance for a nap  Do you have anyone that can come over and play with the babies while you catch a small nap?

Oh my word, It's like looking in a mirror! My poor Benny has the same problem! He is soooooo gassy! The ovol drops (Simethicone) definately do help to get the burps up, but once that air has passed into the intestine, we're in for it! He SCREECHES and cries for hours, and I know how horrible it makes you feel. Just hang in there! It all started around week 2, and we are now approaching week 5, and it has gotten a bit better. You can try the bicycle moves with his legs, that really seemed to help Benny. Try to do it when he is relaxed though, because when they are in the middle of a screaming fit, it sometimes p*sses them off more! You can google "infant massage for gas relief" and try some of those moves too. Now Benny loves getting his diaper changed because we sing the ABC"s and do the bicycle everytime. He used to scream bloody murder! I also found that a really nice warm bath IN THE TUB WITH ME really relaxed him enough. But... speaking from experience... prepare yourself for the fact that you may end up covered in poop! The warm water and relaxation caused his bowels to UNLEASH themselves and I was caught in the crossfire! But my oh my did he ever sleep like a dream that night :)

hugs to you! We had the same problem with Ryan, he had/has a sensitive digestive track. Sitting up, helped him, we would put him in the swing and we would laugh cause he would "let loose" and it would lift him up! haahaa...poor little guy.

It is soo rough in the beginning, I remeber people telling us that, but I didn't see how hard it was until they hit 3months and things magically got SOOO much better. We had one with colic too...

Hang in there, the fog will soon lift! Rest when you can, you are doing a great job!

After bicycling and massage, swinging, and mylicon drops, the only other thing I can add is maybe to try good tight swaddling. The book/video "Happiest baby on the block" gives great instructions on how to correctly swaddle. It really helps little ones that small to relax thru the gas pain.

Thanks for the advice...I will give it all a try if I have too!!!

My mom has been helping out some but mostly with the older kids...since I am mostly BF. Also even when somebody lets me sleep it is hard to get relaxed during the day, it seems like I am just getting to sleep good when either the babies are my boobs wake me up...LOL!!!
