    HELP!

My DD just will not attempt to move - she will whine all the time if she wants something that is out of her reach. She does love to bounce on her bottom (she does that herself) and hold onto to tables to stand, but when it comes to crawling - nothing, nada, not a move. She will "swim" if I refuse to help her, but that is it.

She rolls and will sit up for hours...

Her brother is crawling everywhere and it makes her cry because it seems like she wants to as well. (I REALLY want her to be able to move to get a few toys...)

Should I be worried? How do I get her to move? Not give her toys? Help~~

    thanks everyone!

My DD did not crawl until 10 months and DS until 11 months. DS would get so frustrated watching DD get around. He would cry. It was really pitiful. I would just try to leave thing out of DD's reach and she will move when she's ready. I definitely don't think there is anything you need to worry about. Just remember . . . all babies develop at different times. Be patient.

    Hi,

I just finished reading a book by T. Berry Brazelton that said that some babies never crawl. Instead, they just stand up one day and walk! That could be the case with your little one ;)

No real advice but a funny little story about crawling babies for you. At swim lessons I was talking to a mom of 6 year old identical twin girls. She was saying that the one crawled almost 3 months later than the other, at that comment the slow crawler said "I can't help that my butt was velcroed to the floor." I had to laugh at that cute little 6 year old comment. She will crawl someday!

I just wanted to encourage you! At nine mos one of mine wouldn't crawl either. Rebekah was scooting all over the place on her tummy plus rolling, etc. Rachel would roll if she wanted to but she would prefer to sit, thank you. Well, just last week, Rachel started to crawl...just a few days before she turned 10 months! So, it will happen I promise. There's really not much to help her along...she'll do it when she wants to. It just takes patience...I know easier said than done! HTH!

mine are just 4 days older than yours, and no crawling either! i think DS MIGHT be a butt-scooter, but we'll see. both are rocking on hands and knees. i help them get up into the position, and try to demonstrate crawling after toys, etc. Who knows if that will help (i am sure they thnk i am nuts- but what mother istn'!). i'm sure they'll get there- and then we'll REALLY be on our toes chasing them!

    Hi Jen!
You sound like me over a month ago and guess what? My girls JUST started the army crawl last week! Emma is now hands and knees crawling, and Lauren is still army like. I too never thought they would get here and spent those frustrating days hearing the whine wanting the toys - ugh!! I will have a big smile on my face when I see your post about her crawling because I will know that feeling of joy you will have!! :D

Hi there! I had a non-mover too. Ainsley started with scooting on her bottom at 11 mos, and then didn't actually crawl until 14-15 months. What "they" look for is making some sort of attempt at moving to objects by 12 mos, whether it's crawling, scooting, rolling, etc. She will move, and if she's not by 12 mos, call EI. Try not to worry :)

LOL!!! My DH, who is 6'5 crawls around to try to show our DD...She cannot even get one of his legs in total view!! ha ha

My DS is totally rubbing it in that he can crawl, I swear...He steals every single toy she is playing with and now is stealing her paci right out of her mouth...and he is a THUMB SUCKER!!!

You do exactly what I do...Let's both join the nut club! ha

Mine are nine months today. Hannah just started really crawling yesterday - she's so proud  Natalie isn't crawling but will rock back & forth on her hands & knees and giggle. My older daughter never really crawled but could roll/scoot/wriggle to pretty much anything she wanted. I'm sorry she's so frustrated - but don't worry!!!

Hannah didn't start crawling until 11 mos. In fact, she never even rolled over. She couldn't do it. Talk about getting frustrated! Just wanted to let you know that she is a bright, precocious, active toddler. She will crawl in time...HER time.

I agree with everyone else, she will get there but I know patience is hard. I just had to say that I love your avatar, your babies are beautiful.
