Well Feb 13 at 9:30 I slipped on my step and broke my ankle. It couldn't be just a small break. It is one of the worst. I went to the er and sat there for 4 hours and then they sent me home at 3 am and I had to get back up and go see a specialist on Valentines day  He let me know that I would have to have surgery and that because of the swelling he couldn't do my surgery till the following wednesday. So I have had my surgery and now here I sit on my couch. I can't walk on it for 6 weeks so I am on crutches. I am not any good at walking on them. The worst part of all of this is that I can't carry my babies and the don't understand. When it first happened they would look at me like what in the world are you doing mommy. I think they are getting used to it but they have also gotten used to lots of people being around to tote them around when they whimper. Everyone has been really great and helped so much. My oldest dd has big such a big help with the house and they babies and with me. She has helped me with my showers... HOw many 11 year olds will do that? My dh has done so good with the girls. I am just ready to get this over with and be all better so I can get my house back in order and be able to do things for myself and my little girls. The babies have learned out to do so much since they have been at home with us. They have learned how to say momma, dada, bye bye and hi. Hope has learned how to sit back up after she gets on her stomach and Grace is starting to go from sitting to getting on all fours but no crawling yet. They are so cute to watch. They are starting to notice each other more and Hope loves to grab Grace and Grace hates it. Probabley one of the joys of twins but I was changing Graces diaper and Hope was sitting by use and Hope reached down and grabbed a handful of poooopoooo yuck  I didn't know whether to laugh or get sick. Anyway thanks for listening.

    Missy -

How awful! I'm thankful for you that it sounds like you have an excellent support system! I hope the kids will hold off on their mobility until you are mobile too - that would make things a lot easier!!

    Good luck in your recovery!

You poor thing. Take care of yourself and heal that ankle.

Sounds like your babies are growing up. We are just starting that whole rapid development phase as well and it is bittersweet.

    Get better!

Wow. I feel for you. I broke my ankle a couple of years ago and it was a horrible experience. I could not imagine going through it now with the babies. Take care.

that is horrible! I broke my ankle and was in a cast for 5 months... spring and summer months... it was never ending and miserable. The upside is that crutches work out your upper body really well! Take it easy and good luck!

Wow MIssy! I am soooo glad that you have so much love and support. It sounds like the injury was quite a nightmare but I am glad you are starting to figure things out and everyone is adapting. I hope you are on the mend in no time at all. Please take special care of yourself.
