I've been spoon feeding the girls cereal for about a month and a half now. Our ped suggested it due to reflux issues. I just started adding in fruits and started with peaches. I have waited the 4 days and now I want to introduce a veggie now. So, my question is, when I introduce the veggie, can I still do peaches at the same time, or do I just do one thing a day? Not really sure how it should work. Right now I feed rice/peaches mix midmorning and with the bedtime bottle. If I can do a fruit and veggie in the same day, do I add the veggie in the afternoon or replace one of the other cereal feeds? Sorry for all the questions, just not sure the best way to proceed. TIA :)

We are working through the same thing at the moment. What I have dont is introduce a new food every four days. Most days my babies have only had one meal because they havent been drinking as much formula. But I have had days where I have inroduced a new food and they have also had a old one in the morning.
With my son who is now four, I started with cereal which also had fruit and then added a veggie as another meal in the afternoon.

LOL! Feeding is something I could never grasp! HA! I always wondered what was the right way or the wrong way. And you know what??! The right way to go about it-is YOUR way. Once they've had a fruit/veggie for x amount of days, you can add that to their list of foods they can eat. So yes-you can still do peaches at the same time. I did veggies first, then added fruit. So I did cereal in the morning, veggie at dinner/lunch. Once we added fruit, I did cereal/fruit in the morning and then usually veg/fruit at dinner. Or I offered cereal/veg at lunch. Whatever you are in the mood for! There's no wrong way to go about it! And I was TERRIBLE about keeping track of what they ate, for how many days. I didn't really follow that to a t....

At 4 months, we were just introducing rice cereal. Granted they were getting 2 tsp per ounce of formula in their bottles, but they werent quite ready from the spoon. Once they got it at about 5.5 months, we did the 4 day wait rule with foods.

Give the same food for 4 days in a row. If no reaction you can then introduce another and still keep feeding whatever has passed the 4 day rule challenge. We did 2 solids meals at 6 months (bfast and dinner) and then went to 3 at 9 months by adding in lunch.

Yes, when you introduce a new food you can do it while feeding previous foods that have proven safe. There are no hard and fast rules. You can feed a veggie for breakfast even! You can just add the veggie with another feed. Just always keep in mind that this is still practice at such a young age and 1 or 2 tablespoons is pretty much a meal.
