someone i grew up with is 8 months pregnant and about to pop with her first baby, a girl, and she is working TWO jobs. holy crap! i can't even imagine being 8 months pregnant and working 1 job especially with 2 babies in my belly and me already (at 19weeks) getting out of breath from walking down my hallway. it just made me realize how very different, unique and special we all are (having multiples i mean). i just can't imagine and/or fathom working right up until delivery. especially when my peri's biggest tip for me was to REST and the most amount of activity i'm even allowed to do is light walking and wadding in a swimming pool. i'm not even supposed to do yoga!

    wow, i'm just amazed.

Kristine, sorry you are so restricted.
I was fully functioning right up until I had my twins at 36 weeks. (well, Idid go to bed a bit earlier) I also know people who were on bedrest with singletons. Yes carrying twins is harder that a singleton but I really do think it just depends on the person.

I agree with Alison. It really depends on the person. I worked until about a week before delivery with both of my singletons. . and I felt like I could have w/ the twins, but the DR put me on bedrest around 27wks. I felt fine and I wanted to continue working but he wouldnt let me. I dont feel like there was a big difference in my twin pregnancy in comparison to the others, but thats just me.

I am in my 8 month and still working two jobs. I'm not saying I recommend it but it can be done. I will say that my first job is a desk job and the second one is only 5 hrs on Saturday and boy do my feet kill after those five hrs on my feet. I think every pregnancy is different and everyone carries different as well.

I worked full time as an attorney until 35 weeks and only stopped then because I have a 45 minute commute (more than an hour from our hospital) and didn't want to go into labor at work! I also taught a class at the law school twice a week until 30 weeks. Don't get me wrong - I was MISERABLE! But, I had a very easy pregnancy for twins health-wise, and I was far more miserable that last 2 1/2 weeks I was sitting at home in pain.

i suppose if i was working when i got pregnant it would be different and i wouldn't be looking at you all in utter amazement. i've been out of work since october, not by choice, so i haven't worked at all through this pregnancy. and i think the reason i am on such restrictions with my peri is because i'm a first timer with mono/di twins and have a fragile placenta (i don't know if that's the case or not i'm just speculating). the health of my babies is stellar but the health of momma hasn't been that great.

but again, i seriously bow down to all of you ladies that worked up until the end! BRAVO!

Yes, everyone is different. I was working 43 hours up until the day I had the twins (38 weeks). When I wasn't working, I was napping a lot of the time, minus making supper/eating.

Bodies handle pregnancy different. Every pregnancy is different. I had different issues when I was pregnant with my youngest son. Try to enjoy the rest of your pregnancy. It may seem like it lasts forever, but enjoy those baby kicks when you can!

Ya I know what you mean! Everyone at work keeps asking me when I am planning on leaving and I am going to try and work as long as I can but I really don't see how I will work much longer with how I am already feeling! I feel myself descending everyday. Kudos to the ladies that have made it to the end!!! Hopefully I can make it that long!

I know what you mean! I worked until the day before I had my DS, granted, I wasn't very comfy, but I did it...now, here I am, 24 weeks pregnant with twins, and wondering how on earth I'm going to make it to 30 weeks working (my self-imposed goal...I've planned on asking to be pulled off work at that point). I'm fine MOST of the day...but by the time 2:00 rolls around, I am SPENT. Yesterday, my boss asked me a question and I pretty much ignored her...I just didn't have the energy to talk to her, so I gave her some quick answer and turned around...I just couldn't fathom having an intelligent conversation at 3:30 in the afternoon! And I'm at a desk job!

I guess everyone is different...and it's hard because no one I know has had twins, so people don't really get it and I think they secretly think I'm a wuss (or those are my fears). It's just amazing how a relatively simple task can completely exhaust me. I'm still functioning at about 100%, but inside I'm dying!

Wow, you Ladies that are so far along and still working and working 2 jobs..... :bow2: :bow2:

Having had a singleton and a multiple pregnancy, I could definitely feel my self tire more easily and slow down with the twin pregnancy.

I worked (desk job) up until about 32 weeks then went on maternity leave and then bedrest a week later.
I think I complained EVERY SINGLE day at work for about 6 months before I went on leave though  I think (know) the boys that I work with were ready to get rid of me by then!!!
If I wouldn't have had a 'sit down' job there would have been NO way I could have made it that long.

I had a ton more aches and pains with my twin pg than this singleton even with chasing after twin toddlers. I am more moody this second time around though......

Twin pregnancy is definitely different than singleton in the world of work i've noticed. I literally worked the day i had DS, and here at 19 weeks i just worked my last shift and handed em my dr note. I think what has probably added to it is having 2 kids to chase at home on top of work, go figure. Every person's body is truly different, heck every pregnancy is!
