UUUGGGGHHHHHHHH here we go....Monday was a scheduled normal run of the mill NST at my doctors office. While on the monitors-I started contracting every 5-8 minutes. They sent me to L&D to check in and be monitored there. As soon as I was there, the contractions came every 2-5 minutes. They gave me something for pain and checked my cervix-only 1/2 cm. We then discussed the option of the steroid shot for their lungs. I'll be 32 weeks on sunday. The doctors went ahead and admitted me and decided for the shot. I received 1 every 24 hours. Last night was my last one. Then this morning, I had one high blood pressure measuring. So now they have me on a 24 hr urine collection to test for protein. I also had MORE blood drawn :grr:

They put me on medicine for my contractions and all had subsided until this afternoon when I woke up from a nap and started contracting again. All is quiet now, but I'm just nervous for the outcome of the urinalysis. Also, what are the chances I would have to deliver anytime soon? Anyone have a similiar story or have any advice? I'll be starting day 4 of the hospital stay tomorrow-and I'm going CRAZY!!!!!! :headbang:

Thank you ladies for reading and for all the advice so far! Hoping to keep the boys in to bake a little longer...but good news is that they are measuring big for their gestional age as well, so with the steroid shot, I'm confident along with the doctors, that in the event something should happen early.....all should end well. I'm aware that a NICU stay would be in their future, but rather than risk harm to them inside me, with my high blood pressure and everything....Im trying to stay positive that all the correct decisions have been made.

I am so sorry you are going on day 4 in L&D
I also went in around 32 weeks & had the steriod shot (was only in L&D for one night/two days) I also started Procardia & stayed on that until the day before my scheduled c-section at 37.5 weeks.
I don't have any great advice unfortunately, just wanted to send a  your way & it sounds like you are being monitored carefully which is great :)
    Good luck!

At 31 weeks I beleive it was I was 1 - 2cm dilated. I went into labour and delivery last week with my contractions 3 minutes apart and they still released me based on the fact that I wasn't dilating at all. I had the steroid shots too and because of them my doctor will not stop labour if I should start dilating again. I would trust in your doctors that they are doing everything they can. I am sorry you are on day 4 in there! Hopefully everything works out for you! I don't really have any advice.

THANK YOU SO MUCH LADIES!!!! you're support means more to me than anything....I know all pregnancies are different, so I would imagine the only thing they couldnt stop is if I started dilating and they couldnt stop that. I will keep everyone posted-the doctors usually come in on their morning rounds around 10....so hopefully I'll have good news for y'all then!

Thank you again for the support!!! hope everyone else's pregnancy is going well and hang in there, we're almost done!

At 33 weeks exactly I went in for my NST and was contracting every 3-7 minutes. They admitted me to L&D and my contractions went to every 2-5 minutes. I got 3 shots of terbutaline and was 1-2cm and 80%. I was released later that day even though I was still contracting because I wasn't progressing anymore. I had two NSTs a week after that and was always contracting at least every 4 minutes. I kept my girls in until I was 36 and 5. Just take it easy. I lived on the couch or in the bathtub after that. Some women just start contracting a lot towards the end! Especially with two, your uterus is stretched to the max and is practicing more for the big day! Good Luck! I hope your boys stay in a little longer for you!

    Hey ladies!!

So here's an update....they finally let me go home yesterday after 5 long days at the hospital. My urine did test positive for protein for which they then diagnosed me as having mild preeclampsia. I'm now to monitor my blood pressure every few hours and they sent me home with a prescription thats for blood pressure but they use it for contractions as well. I made it to 32 weeks thankfully, and I'm still contracting here and there but nothing significant. I know at this point in time, if anything were to happen, although a NICU stay would happen, their viability is very high. Thank you all for the support and encouragement-I will keep y'all posted as time goes by :)

hope everyone is doing well!!!! We're almost done!!!!
