To some it up, the appointment itself was fine, but leading up to the appointment was another story. With the twins in tow I headed to my 3:30 appointment. At about 5 I was called back with all the staff complaining about how far behind they were today. By that point I was feeling the same way. They have an ultrasound machine in all the rooms. Not the best ones, the really good ones are across the hall where all the "real" ultrasounds are done. Anyway, she asked how things were going and I told here that since the end of last week I have had some all over stomach tightening about 3 times a day. She seemed to think that since I am only 16 weeks she wouldn't be concerned. That left me feeling a little insecure. She did a quick ultrasound and checked for the heartbeat and that was about it. Don't get me wrong, seeing the baby on ultrasound it neat, but I have a doppler at home that I could check the heartbeat with. Needless to say I wasn't impressed about the quick in and out given I had waited forever to get to the back. I was able to set my next few appointments for the morning and hopefully that will get me in and out before they have a chance to get behind. My next appointment will be Sept. 7. I will be 19 weeks. We are going to do an ultrasound and I would think we could tell the sex - I guess we will see. Overall, the appointment allowed me to see the little one growing inside. That is always nice!

How obnoxious! I hate when that happens! I always try to get the first appointment in the morning or the first one after lunch. Waiting alone is terrible, waiting with other kids....ugh! Hopefully the next one is better.

Ugh, how annoying. Glad you got to see your little one though!

How aggravating! I just went through the same thing at the peri. I was supposed to be seen at 5 and didn't go in until 6:45. And, I was given no explanation or apology. Luckily th girls were occupied in the waiting room with lots of toys.

It is really nice that you got to see and hear the baby. I hope that your next appointment goes smoother.

I've noticed at my DR's office morning appt's are much better as well. It never fails, everytime I have an afternoon appt. he has to leave to go deliver a baby, and we sit there forever, LOL

That would have made me crazy!! My babes would have been up the walls if they had to wait that long, then go in with me for an appointment. So far, I've lucked out and haven't needed to take them along, but I know the day is coming and hope that my Dr. is somewhat on schedule.

Ditto, except when the DR insisted I bring them, he wanted to see them.

I am sure there are many who have dealt with the same thing. I was just so frustrated that I had to share. I usually don't get afternoon appointments for that very reason. When they get behind, there is no catching up. Before I left that I day I made morning appointments all the way through Nov. I am trying to avoid that at all costs!
