    Hi everyone,

We just found out on 5/29/09 that we are having b/g twins. Talk about a surprise! It turns out they were laying one on top of another. The way the u/s tech told me put me in such a tizzy that I ended up in preterm labor and dilated to 3 cm. I was just released from the hospital this previous Thursday. Needless to say it still hasn't really sunk in yet! I understand that there are two, though I am still having a hard time snapping into the reality about this, and what it all means. We are very thankful, feel very blessed and really always wanted twins. We just never expected to have them since they don't run in either of our families. My hubby has been great about the whole thing. He has always been my rock...keeping me grounded and balanced. He has remained calm and normal since we first found out. I know that is a blessing, but I am going between wandering around in a daze at times to absolute and utter panic on the inside. I guess the rest of the time is spent somewhere in the middle. I am hoping to snap out of this funk soon. I would really like to feel/be useful again, lol.

I have been going through the threads all day and I am SOOOOOO very thankful to have found this site. I am looking forward to getting to know people better on here and watching everyone's family grow :D

Thanks. Everyone keeps asking me how I am handling it. All I can say is that I think it will sink in by their first birthday, lol.

    Congratulations!

Its funny because we knew that twins were a possibility in fertility treatments but I couldn't get pregnant to begin with, so twins.....wow, didn't see that one coming! I think I feel the same as you, I'm in panic on the inside and walk around in a daze. When people congratulate me or touch my belly, I really don't know what to say. And I knew right off the bat we were having twins....I can't imagine how you are dealing with it! But you are right....its a blessing! Times 2!

Congrats on your twins! I know the sock, we found out 3 weeks ago that we are expecting twins. I went to the hospital for bleeding, they did and U/S, and the tech said well baby A has a HB and so does baby B. My SO made her repeat that there were 2 about 5 times. It does take awhile for it to sink in. Enjoy the rest of your pregnancy!

Hi! We found out at our 19 week appt. The one prior to that was at 6 weeks and all we saw was 1 heartbeat. It was quite the shock for us. We were just so excited to find out the sex of the baby....and suddenly we were finding out the sex of two!! It's still very crazy, and I feel like we just didn't get enough time to let it all sink it. I've been on modified bedrest almost since we found out... something my doctor does just to be preventative. It stinks because I feel like I haven't gotten anything done...

At the same time I'm grateful that I didn't have to go through the 1st trimester worrying about 2.... since I still only thought there was 1.

I feel very blessed.... just not sure how i'm going to manage 2 newborns and a 2 year old!! Eeek...lol

    Congrats to you!!

Again, glad to know I am not alone!!! People in the hospital treated me so odd cause I just didn't know. I didn't even feel pregnant until they said hey it's twins and that hospital bed gave me the most lovely hip pain, lol. Thanks for the coffee ;)

I know that stress can make alot of things happen but I doubt the US tech did anything on purpose to harm you. What other pregnancy board do you belong to?

What time is our meeting cause Ill bring some cookies!!

Nah I know she didn't do it on purpose. She was just reacting. But she said, "I see two heads and one body." I freaked out and said is it siamese twins??????? Then two dr.'s and a nurse sat on my bed to look at the screen and blocked my view. They ignored our questions for 20 minutes. Finally they said it's twins and ones a boy lol.

Wooohoooooo. Now we just need chips and dip ;)

    I am on bg...baby-gaga.

Welcome and congrats! We've known for over 22 weeks now and i think i'm still trying to get my brain around the idea of 2 babies. I guess there's definitely +/- to knowing earlier on vs the "big u/s." I've been tweaking out and worrying about 2 since week 7, but i think about finding out later and how big of a shock it would be and feeling like time is running out to get ready. Good luck with your lil rascals and we look forward to hearing more from you (i think you'll be on cookie duty next post).

This is me exactly. One minute I'm so excited and ready to face the twins, the next I'm totally freaking out. And I've known for 7.5 months now! I'm hoping it all turns out well once they're born. I'm pretty attached to both of them at this point in any case...
