We have requested the same class per the girls request. Their pre k teacher says either way they'd be fine and they don't cause disruptions. How many will be staying together for the next year?

    Congratulations!!

We're keeping ours together for the same reason. :good: They have always played very independently of each other at playgroup and their teachers say it's the same at school.

My two are together now and I am having a debate with myself about what to do next year in first grade. They are very independent for the most part. She says she wants to be together, he says he would like to be separated. But then two seconds later he says, I'll do whatever Meghan wants.

We kept them together this year for K.

We are leaning towards separating them next year. Their teacher said that keeping them together this year was the right choice. She suggests separating them next year. I get weepy just thinking about it but I know it is the right decision.

    Hi:

Ours will be starting kinder in the Fall, too. (Sniff! Sniff!) Our pre-K teachers are suggesting separate classes, which is what I think we will do, based on their observations/advice, but I want to talk to the school principal first about it.

This milestone is hitting me -- hard! (more sniffles....)

Mine are staying together too, at least for kindergarten. They've been in a daycare center for their whole lives and have always played fairly independently -- the pre-K teachers said they thought it would be fine either way.

We actually have half-day kindergarten with an additional half-day of "enrichment," and I had wanted to have them together for only half the day, but the school can't do that because the kids stay with the same group all day. That makes sense, but I'm sort of sorry we won't get to do a trial run of separating them.

I expect we'll separate them at some point because I do think Sarah tends to be in Amy's shadow. (The teachers often comment that Sarah talks a lot more when Amy is out sick for a day.) But they wanted to be together for kindergarten and it makes me feel better about the transition to know they will have each other!

Mine are enrolled too! All day K is across the board here.

They will most likely be together per our request- the girls also prefer it and our area allows parent choice.

Their PreK teacher thinks they will be fine together.

Now....I have to decide what SCHOOL to go!! We can do our local school and pay for before school childcare or do a school near my work (so no before school care needed due to timing) but they would be in a K/1 class.....choices choices....

Once I make a choice, both them and myself are SO READY! No tears in our house the first day of school....I just wish it was 1/2 day instead of all day.

Switching from 1/2 day to all day is part of the reason we kept the girls together. That's a big transition for them even though they go to daycare. We got our supply list today to so the shopping begins

We just registered!! We are keeping them together as well. They were together in preschool this year, but the teacher kept them in separate groups within the classroom. It worked out great! They each seem to have their own set of friends, but also share friends. They talk about the days activities with me, and sometimes argue about who is right, but I think it's great and they enjoy being with each other. They want the same teacher next year, so we're keeping them together.

This year M&M stayed together and I am so glad I did it. Its great for them to have each other. I have asked a million times about what they want do do next year for 1st grade and they change their mind every time. I think I may separate them, but I have to say keeping them together made it SOOO much easier with class schedules/homework and such. Especially when I have two other kids. So I may keep them together too. I have no idea when I have to decide by.

just registered our two on Tuesday (we will be 5 on 5/9) and we are separating...it is full day K here too!

while they play independently at pre-school they both have the tendency to correct and reprimand each other so we thought it best to separate LOL!

You got the list already? Our school district doesn't seem to do anything until the summer. I'm envious -- I like to be prepared early! We don't even know whether they are in a.m. or p.m. yet (not that it matters, since the other half of the day will be enrichment -- but I want to know!).

I register mine next month and plan on keeping them together. In Pre-K they have separate friends, but they like to know that the other is close by.

Our kindergarten is full day, too. Preschool is also full day, but only four days a week.
