If your twins were born premature, I am curious if it means an automatic c-section? DH and I were talking last night about what the birthing plan is going to be, and my Dr told me as long as Baby A is head down then I can do vaginal, but then I got to thinking about with twins, you always will go early.

I think it depends on the situation. I had to have a planned c-section, no choice, at 32 weeks because they are monoamniotic twins.

my girls were born c section ( I pushed for this) at 37w 1d. They would have been happy to keep on cooking. Caroline was breech and had been the entire time so vaginal delivery was not really an option - but my doctor kept telling me that if she turned, we could have had a vaginal delivery. Twins are not always early and from what I read 37 weeks is pretty much considered "full term" for twins.

Best of luck to you. :)

I don't know the answer to your question, but just because you have twins doesn't mean you'll go early (and the definition of early is debatable. for me I'm thinking less than 35 weeks for some reason as the average twin delivery is 36-37 weeks so, technically early but not so early you'll absolutely require NICU, ya know?). Usually can be delivered vaginally barring positions and medical issues. My guys were 37 weeks and vag (induced due to pre-e), a friend's were 35 weeks and vag. I think the super early ones tend to be c/s.

Sorry if my rambling didn't make sense typed out. It did in my head :) I need more sleep.

    I had a planned c-section at 37.5 weeks & my Dr. considered 38 weeks full term :)
