Thread title says it all.... how long did you or do you think you'll be using a stroller for your twins? I was thinking maybe we were getting close to NOT using it, but after a simple quick errand where J decided to throw himself on the floor right in front of the store kicking and screaming all while I had my purse and purchases in my hands as well as his brother's hand/harness and had to practically DRAG him out of the store I'm feeling like we'll be using a stroller forever!!! :headbang:

Around 2, I stopped using it a lot. For errands that didn't involve a lot of walking I would take them without the stroller. This summer, it has been in the garage (again, except for occasions where we needed to do a lot of walking) and I haven't missed it.

I think I stopped around 3.5 for most stuff. We haven't been going to the mall and stuff much, and that's one place we used to use it a lot. I shop without them as much as humanly possible now.

I just took my first trip without a stroller and it took a lllllllllllloooooooooonnnnnnnnnnngggggggggggggg time to get to the gate etc. I had to plan a LOT of extra time because they are so distracted by all that's going on around them!!! I would have taken it if it didn't have a flat!

We didn't use it much after 2.5 and sold our Combi stroller just after they urned 3 since we hadn't been using it. DH still had his double jogger until a couple months ago but it was used very rarely-ie when we would be walking miles at one time such as a local animal park with a lot of trails.

I kept the twins in a stroller for outings until they were about 2 1/2 and the only reason I stopped was because I had Liam and my triple was too awkward to bring to the mall, etc. I got a sit n stand stroller at that point and they would sit/stand on the back and Liam would sit in the front. They will still sit in our triple jogger when we go for walks at the Cape or longer walks here at home. Liam still rides in a stroller at 2 years 9 months. Not ALL the time, but most of the time.

I just got rid of my Duoglider, because I realized that I hadn't used it once in at least 6 months. I still have my jogger, but only use it when I walk/jog...maybe I should get rid of it too.

We still use it. Maybe not quite as often, but definately for the mall, Seaworld, etc...places that require alot of walking. Most places we shop at have baskets. If they don't, we would use the stroller (if I am out by myself). Mine like to run in opposite directions. You cannot let go of DS for a second or he will take off on you.

I think it was around 2.5 that we stopped using it for the most part. I used it this summer (3.5) for the zoo, but I would much rather have had a wagon. Before that, I think it was almost a year since we had used it. I planning to sell ours, too.

I use our BOB for everything - if it doesn't go, we don't go and I save the errand for another time. They just don't cooperate well in public lately. I foresee using it for at least another 3-6 months on a regular basis!

My kids stopped using the stroller as soon as they turned 3. And they walked EVERYWHERE after that, since we didn't have a car.

They refused to sit in it around age 2, so we stopped around that time.

My boys are 4 and I still have my double stroller. It's now kept in the garage instead of the van since I don't use it as much. I do take it to the mall when I have to take the boys along. My dad pushes while I shop :)! Otherwise they walk or ride in the double seater carts at the grocery store. I will probably sell it at the next multiples group yard sale in the spring (they boys will be a few months shy of 5).

We still use ours fairly often and my twins are almost 4. It helps that they have never fought the stroller. (In fact Sarah usually prefers to ride rather than walk. ) We take long walks nearly every weekend. For other errands (like the zoo or the farmer's market) we are more likely to take the wagon, because it's easier for the kids to hop in & out, and we can also use it to schlep stuff while the kids walk.

I still feel that some sort of extra wheels are essential, because it's inevitable that someone will suddenly decide she doesn't feel like walking anymore, or doesn't want to go the same direction as everyone else, or we're in a hurry, or... a multitude of reasons.

It was last summer, so the kids would've been around 2 1/2. I was shopping with sil, and I actually had dd and her cousin in the stroller (who's only 6 mos older.) They had figured out how to wiggle out of the harnesses, and I turned around for 2 seconds and they literally flipped the stroller over! With them still 1/2 way attached.....scared me half to death!!! That was the last time we used it.

I kept the stroller until they were 4. But from 3 to 4 we only used it a few times. From 2.5 to 3 we took it places and they would walk some and ride some. My girls were great at sleeping in the stroller so that helped us out a lot.

I haven't used a stroller in ages. I don't think we used it much at all past 2. They would rather walk & I would rather save myself the hassle of getting the stroller in & out of the car.

wow, I guess we'll just be way behind since they'll be 2.5 in a few weeks and I don't see us giving the stroller up!!! Oh well, ya gotta do what works, right? :)

I just stopped around 3.5 years old. I sold my duoglider at my twins club yardsale. I still have a double umbrella that we took on vacation with us or we take if there is a lot of walking involved. But for daily things I stopped around 3.5, I wanted to keep them in a stroller as long as possible.

I just don't understand how anyone walks with twins under the age of 4 (or even older!) and ever arrives at their destination. I guess it depends on the child (or the parent), but it drives me INSANE to try to walk anywhere with my two. I would seriously rather haul the stroller in & out of the car than get them to walk one block. To each her own!

Ainsley has a joint condition, so she really can't walk very far without resting. I'm seriously contemplating a Sit and Stand. They are too heavy in the double stroller and if it's just me, I can't do that anyway with Caleb too. If we are walking of any distance, it's a lot of breaks. They actually did pretty well at the state fair, with the exception of Bea getting lost. The zoo a few months ago, we did break out the stroller and they would hop in and out of it. I would say I stopped using it on a regular basis though about somewhere between 2.5 and 3.

I think it's so dependent on where you live and how much time you have in your day.

Our usual home is only a 5 minute walk, across a park, to the local store / swim lesson / swings etc (5 mins Mom time = 1/2 hour kid time) - so they can walk that. But everything else is too far to walk to - timewise rather than distance-wise as I used to do it before returning to work - so we take a car and then don't need a stroller either. Here then I never ever use the stroller and haven't for probably a year or so.

But twice a year I spend a few weeks back in England with my folks. The shops and swings are a 15 min walk (downhill), the streets are busy and so I use the pram all the time. Even now. I offer them to walk but always take the pram with me unless I have another adult to help carry them home (the uphill bit) ...

One solution I see other parents using a lot there is to take little micro-scooters AND the pram. So, while the kid is willing they can scoot and when they tire both them and the scooter can easily be carried.

Age 2 for all my kids. I kept it around until 2.5, just in case we went somewhere where it would be safer. After about 6 months of not using it, I'd be ready to get rid of it. However, I do not live in a city that is pedestrian friendly, if I did I might have kept it longer.
