I'd like to sell some stuff at one of these sales that's coming up in my area, but I've never been to one before. Does anyone have any tips, particularly for pricing?

I have some bigger items, like the Rainforest swing, and a couple bouncy chairs...and of course clothes and things. I'm not sure where to price my items, so any suggestions are welcome. Thanks!

This may not be much help, but the consignment sale in our area has a suggested price list. You might check to see if your area offers anything.

I underprice my stuff on purpose. I'm a cheapskate so I price things based on what I'd be willing to pay. That way I get a little bit of money for getting rid of stuff but better yet, somebody else gets a great deal! I didn't see where you live...I'm in the Charlotte, NC area. Typically a pair of jeans would go for $3 or $4 but I price them at $1 or $2 for brand names like Gap or Children's Place. I hth!

I think pricing depends on if you want to make money or if you want to clear out stuff. If it is more important to you to make money and are willing to wait for the right price, then I would take a look at ebay to see what items are selling for and go from there. If you are wanting to sell so you can get rid of things, then I would price at a good deal and heavily discounted rate so you can be sure it will sell. For instance, I have a FP swing that sells new for $150. They are selling for around $75-$90 on ebay, so that would be a fair price, but if I want it gone faster I would probably price it at $50-$60 to make sure it sells and still get some money. Make sense?
