i was just wondering..i was reading today and they said older women are more likely to conceive twins, so are tall and heavier women, as well as black women.

 

I was 33 and it was by chance. I'm not tall or heavy though and I'm caucasion. Twins do run in my family.

 

well BEFORE i got prego, i was 5'5 and 123
and i just turned 33 (i was on b/c when i conceived identical twin boys...)

 

wow you are so blessed! from everything i've read identical isnt common, and you had them by chance. amazing.

 

I was 20 when I conceived them just by chance. They are ID. I have always been pretty thin-although I never feel that way- and I'm only 5'4.5" and caucasion.

 

i'm 23 and having fraternal twins. white, 5'7" (is that considered tall?), and average weight. my youngest brother (im the oldest of eight) was a twin (VT syndrome- who knows if any of the others were). no twins in the family tho!

 

I was watching 'in the womb: multiples' and they say that identicals are more common in women during their early or later reproductive years. I thought that was interesting. I had fertility treatments (IVF) but I am short (5'3). They stayed in for a long time though! (38 weeks)

 

33, by chance, I put fraternal, but who really knows, even though they each have their own sac there is still a small chance they are identical.

i am 22 no fertility help and identicals. i am tall 5'9 but not heavier and im white. twins run in my fam but w/ identicals it doesnt matter anyway, its just something that happens

36, and conceived my twins by chance. Fraternal... boy and girl. I am 5'3", I normally weigh 115 and I am caucasion. This is my third pregnancy.

 

Concieved 1 week and a half after my 30th birthday. I'm 5'3 and was 212 at conception.
One year 8 months on Metformin and 3 cycles of Clomid.
I do have a family history also of twins, but it is quite uncertain as to if they are Naturally occuring faternals or Drug induced.

I'm 33, and conceived through fertility treatments, BUT my grandma had fraternal twins (my mom was a twin) so if I was ovulating regularly there is a good chance I would have had twins anyway!

I also voted for fraternal, but since mine are both girls, there is no way to know for certain unless DNA tests are done. But I'm pretty sure they are fraternal - much more likely than identical considering I had 5 follicles.

I am 33 usually weigh around 130. I am 5'5" and caucasian. I conceived after one cycle of clomid. There is a set of twins in my family but they are distant. I put fraternal because they are in separate sacs but I am not sure, they never said and we aren't finding out the sexes, so I am not sure.

 

I am 33 years old. My pregnancy wasn't planned. Twins do not run in my family. It was just one of those things that happened. They are fraternal. A boy and a girl. I am caucasian. I have no idea what my height is but I know I am not that tall. I weighed 43 kilos at the start of my pregnancy. I haven't put on a major amount of weight only the babies weight so far. I have two older sisters one who hasn't had any children yet and the other one has given birth to 4 singletons.

I was 32 (and still am for another week) when I conceived. I have PCOS and we used one cycle of Clomid. I am 5' 3" and caucasian. Our twins are fraternal: boy and girl

 

I am 33, concieved by chance, but I am overweight. I am also caucasion. I put fraternal as that is what I have been told so far. We will see. I think it is though, I really think it's one of each... hopefully find out by Christmas!

btw... this is also pregnancy # 5 for me. They also say the more pgs the greater the chance... at least that is what I have been told.

 

Hi there, great poll! I was 37 when I conceived my b/g fraternal twins.....just turned 38 in November. We were ALL done, I have a 3 year old son and 4 year old daughter. They were both potty trained, in preschool, traded in the minivan for a Volvo wagon and I could even leave the house with a cute handbag with no snacks/sippy cups/diapers/etc. So this was a HUGE surprise......

SO my stats are 38, 5ft 9in tall, 145lbs when I conceived and caucasian. I am the older, taller statistic I guess! We have fraternal twins WAY back in my mother's genealogy and my MIL is a fraternal twin...though I know it only comes from the mother's side.

I totally attribute our surprise fraternal twin conception to the fact that I am upwards of 40 and mother nature was cleaning out my eggs preparing for menopause down the road as women in my family start early. So I dropped a couple of eggs and my husband has SUPER swimmers!

My twins are IVF twins. I started TTC at 31 and did our IVF cycle when I was 35 (almost 36). I am not tall or heavy, and I am caucasian.

 

I was 38 when I conceived my b/g twins. Total shock!!! so yes they were conceived spontaneously. My mother's sister had a set of twins before I was born, they didn't survive and we don't know whether they were identical or fraternal.

Each generation has had twins; however, my sister lost her twin girls not that long ago. It was also my 5th pregnancy and I'm white, 5'7" average built...if that had anything to do with it...I don't know. lol

29 years old, I don't believe in chance, but no fertility treatments were involved Our babies are fraternal.

I was 32 at conception, had fertility treatments. I am 5'8" and somewhat overweight. My boys may share a placenta, but they are in separate sacs, so we won't know if they are identical or fraternal until after they are out (probably fraternal, but....)

 

I was 33 when I conceived and delivered the twins. We conceived naturally. The twins were my 3rd pregnancy (2nd was a miscarriage). I am Caucasian, 5'9" and about 155lbs ... so normal weight, but pretty tall.

I wasnt heavy and im not tall; but im guessing i just hyper ovulated that month by chance since i had 2 babies before
