Hi everyone  As some of you know I am 13wks pregnant with my twins, I had some nausea from 6-10 weeks but never really vomited. Last night out of the blue without warning I had to barf! It was pretty violent also I must say. Is this normal? I'm scared to eat or drink anything today cause I just feel so queasy and icky!!! I wnt to my OB on Monday and heard two precious heartbeats, one at 154 and the other at 164 hbm,s. Also are the differences in heartbeats normal? There was always a 10 beat difference between them from the start. I go see my Peri for the first time on June 14th. Thanks everyone!!

    Hi,

Our twins had 10 beats difference in between the heartbeats also. At 8 weeks, it was 125-135 then at 12 it was 165-175, last time at 18 weeks it was 135-145. Please don't let people influence you about their gender based on the heartbeat rates. A lot of my friends did that, which turned out to be not true. At the beginning they said 2 boys - because the rates were lower, then they said 2 girls, because the rates were higher, but it turns out that we are having a boy and a girl :). We would have been happy either way, but I just wanted to let you know that I don't think the heartbeat rate is an indicator of what kind of babies they are. I think the rates vary in time and you will see that maybe later on your twins will have different rates also.

Sorry about your nausea, I had it also, and I threw up from time to time without too much warning. Just take it easy, try to eat some crackers or drink ginger ale or just experiment with food until you find out what works for you... I found out that oranges helped me with my nausea or raw tomatoes with dinner - I know, it's weird since they are both acidy, but that helped me. I hope it's not too bad. For me it went away after week 16, but now I am getting heartburn after I eat. Good luck with everything!

yup, differences in heartbeat are perfectly normal. and their heartbeats will, of course, vary throughout the day as well depending on whether they're awake & active, awake & resting, or asleep, etc.

i had very little morning sickness through my first trimester & then in the first week of my second trimester i threw up every morning like clock work - it was always very sudden (i often worried i wouldn't make it to the toilet in time). and then that was it for moring sickness for me. :unknw:

as PP mentioned, it helps to keep something in your tummy - i know that sounds counter-intuitive when you feel nauseous but it does help. i also had good luck with crackers & ginger ale (ginger naturally helps to calm nausea), as well as grapes & hard boiled eggs.

My girls heartbeats were always different, sometimes even up to 30 beats. I had the worst morning sickness and did throw up violently. Pre-natal vitamins can be really hard on the stomach too, due to all the extra iron.

I was just wondering... is it possible you have a stomach bug?? I had pretty bad nausea the first tri but never hurled, then it gradually went away. Just sounds like it came on sudden to be so violently ill all of a sudden... who knows! But I hope it passes for your sake. Hang in there and congrats!
