We have 2 exersaucers which the girls will sit in for like 10 minutes max! but they do not light up or sing -
I am thinking about buying a jumperoo - the jungle one - do you think it would be worth a try or if they don't sit in the exersaucers they probably won't sit in the jumperoo either??? my house already looks like a daycare center but I am desparate to have something they will sit in for a few minutes longer so that I can get some housework done!!! I was thinking of just buying one to start off with - the girls will be 6 months old on July 3 - is it crazy to buy one now???

It was a hot item for my two. I only bought one, so they had to take turns. While the other was in it jumping around, the other would sit in front of him watching, it was really cute.

I was considering getting a jumperoo too. My twins will be 5 months on July 2nd. Matthew is already 18 pounds and Amy is about 15. I think that the weight limit on a jumperoo may be 20 -22 pounds so, I'm not sure if it will be worth it . How long can Matthew use it? Maybe you should cosider the weight limit . How big are your almost 6 monthers? I could be wrong about the weight limits.

On another note..we got an exersaucer from even flow ( it is the triple something or other-we got it because it will later become a snake shaped table the looks like toddlers will like-but who knows if it will be worth the $119....)that the kids love. I have not gotten to the point where I leave them unattended, though. Amy has less sitting up ability than Matthew. Ours turns around and has lots of things thay look at. iT IS THE POND THEMED ONE. We haven't even put in the batteries for the light up things-don't even know what they do. When did your babies first go in the exersaucer?

I am also staring to wonder where I will plop the babies that is safe and secure so I could simply take a shower. Nice that you think of house work. I wonder when that will be on my radar screen. I can't reallly picture our lives when they are 6 months old. Do your babies move all over the floor?

Mine absolutely loved theirs too. I would put them in it in the morning after their bottle and they would bounce for at least 20-30 mins or so. I would face them toward each other and they would bounce and then laugh at each other and bounce some more. It was the cutest thing ever. I think they liked feeling like they were going somewhere, instead of just sitting. A few times they even bounced themselves to sleep. I thought it was definitely worth the money.

We have one (the evenflo, jump n'go). They didn't really figure out how to use it until about 6 1/2mo, but now they LOVE it. And I mean love it! They like to show off how much they can jump, and they get these huge smiles on their faces while they're showing you their jumping skills--t's so cute.

I have it in an archway near the front door, so when I bring one up from the car I just deposit him right into the jumper while I go get number two. They're pretty mobile these days, so it's nice to know where he'll be when I get back from the car (LOL).

My boys LOVED their jumperoo!!! They used it from about 6mo to about 9mo. At about 9mo. they became very mobile and HATED being confined anywhere!! While it was a relatively short period of time that they used it, it way definitely worth the $. It was a sanity saver MANY times. :D We only bought one and had an exersaucer that had lights and sound. I would switch them both between the two.

Our youngest *loves* his! DH took the boys to see my in-laws two weeks ago (I had to stay home), and he swears that thing saved his life. I say go for it!

We LOOOOVE it!! We only have one, and we have one exersaucer. So I put them in for 5-10 (max) minutes and then swap them for another 5-10 and then they come out. I think they would stay in it for a long time if I let them!

Ours LOVE their jumperoo--we have one (the rainforest one), and they share. Other than the swing, it's probably been our best investment in terms of something that we can use to keep one busy and happy while we feed/diaper/comfort the other one, or try to do things for ourselves. They started using it at about 5-6 months at the lowest height setting, now they're on the highest setting, and are more mobile, so aren't quite as interested in it--they want to be rolling around on the ground. But still--one of the best bargains we've had...

Heather, we really really loved our jumperoo. I found one on craigslist for half the price, perfect condition. :) Good luck!

we have one thats my sisters that we were sharing between the babies. my son loved it from the start! my daughter in the begining would just sit in it and play with the toys in front, than one day she started bouncing and has never looked back. I ended up finding a used one on craigslist for $30.00 so we bought a second one.
we put them facing each other and they go crazy in them. we put them in it before bed time, its great to make them tired.
    WE LOVE THEM!!!!!!!!!
see if you can find any used ones that way you can get two if they both like them and your not paying full price.

I would totally get one just for the reason you said. ANYTHING that can keep them occupied for a period of time so you can get some work done or just have a breather is worth it in my opinion. I had 2 exersaucers and one jumparoo and I would rotate them among the three every day sometimes twice a day. If you can keep them in each one for 10 min, then that's 30 min to get some stuff done. My house looks like a daycare as well but hey...I'm basically doing daycare with my 2 girls all day everyday so I don't care. I don't know if you are into the whole t.v. or no t.v. but after the 30 min if you still need a little more time perhaps you could put on a Baby Einstein dvd or something that will keep their attention. You could keep them in the exersaucers while they watch a little bit. HTH

My boys love it and it's helped save my sanity. Only one likes the exersaucer but both could stay in that jumperoo all day. I could do a Fisher Price commercial I love that thing so much!!!!

I have the fischer price rainforest jumperoo (just have one) and it is one of the best things I have bought for the boys. They loooooooove it (and we never put in the batteries -shhhhhhhhh, don't tell them). The boys are almost 9 months old now and very mobile, but still love getting some jumping in. I would say get it - definately worth the money.

Hate to be a buzzkill here but my understanding is that the latest from the pedi world is that jumparoos are not good for babies in terms of undue pressure on their hips and legs that can damage them..i'll try to find the research.

Also, somebody bought us an FP one and i wnt to return it today and they told us at Target that the item was recalled (and therefore they would't even give us store credit); so you might want to look into that.

I believe that most peds would say that as long as you are not leaving them in the jumparoo for a rediculous amount of time it is fine. I honestly believe that the jumparoo helped to strengthen my dds legs. Prior to the jumparoo, she just wasn't putting any weight on her legs when you held her up to do so. She LOVED the jumparoo and became the jumping champ of this household :D I don't think putting them in for 10 or even 20 min a day will do any kind of damage. These kinds of toys have been around for years and years (the ones you attatch to the door ways) and now with the free standing ones, it is much safer. If it was so dangerous I don't think they would still be on the market and everyone would pretty much know it's a no no. If people are leaving them sitting in them for hours a day then yes, I would say it's probably not good for them.

My girls love their FP Rainforest jumperoo. While one is in it, the other is using the poles to stand up and cruise around it. So they are still interacting with each other. I alternate between them. They are in it no longer than 15-20mins.

Jordari - There is a recall only on the Fisher-Price Rainforest Infant Swings Recalled Due to Entrapment Hazard http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/prhtml07/07197.html. Therefore, Target should have accepted your return. Check the link, it states that no other item in the Rainforest collection has been recalled.

My girls love their Jumperoo's. As soon as they see that they are going in them, their legs start kicking and they get so excited. Also, we have Graco Tot Wheels walkers that they love, too. They chase their brother and explore on their own. We tried another walker that was given to us and it didn't move as easily (or as quickly)as the Graco (that was my son's) so I found another on eBay. It does help so that I can get some house work done!

We have the jumperoos that hang from the door frames and the girls aren't too crazy about them. But I wanted to tell you that they also weren't crazy about the exersaucers until just recently, so maybe your kiddos will start to like them later on as well.

We have one that hangs from the doorway (an 8-10 foot wide doorway, don't remember exactly). All 3 of my kids LOVE it. DS thought it was for him when it was given to us. They all *fight* over it. If I didn't have such a wide doorway then I would have gotten a freestanding one.

So Heather, did you get one? If you did, what do the girls think??

Mine love the Jumperoo. Jake loves it more than Noah who prefers the stationary exersaucer but they take turns. I have them facing each other so one watches the other. It's really cute! :)

I BOUGHT ONE TODAY!!! I havn't gotten it out of the box yet but I set them in the display at BRU and both of them sat in it
without crying and it didn't even have batteries in it! so I am very hopefull! I like that the box says it folds up -
since I am taking care of my dad now - I'm hoping to be able to take it back and forth to his house too!!
    I'll keep you posted!!

    THANKYOU ALL!!

    Heather :D

That is so awesome!! I am glad they liked it.

Even though it says, folds up and easy to get around... it isn't that easy! Mine was heavy, so even with it folded up it was hard to move.

My guys were thrilled with theirs! (We had the design before the rainforest one.)

If you can get one for inexpensive or free fo for it because mine loved it ... but it didn't last very long. Once they started crawling they wouldn't stay very long in it.
