My baby Jack is now addicted to the jumperoo. All he wants to do is jump, jump, jump. When we take him out, he gets REALLY mad unless DH simulates the jumping motion.

Now I know he is even probably too little to put in there, but we put him in once to see how far we had to go and he was instantly hooked.

Anyway my question is how long is it safe to be in the thing? I don't want to leave him in there too long if it is bad for him. Right now I let him go between 5-10 minutes then I take him out and then he proceeds to scream like a maniac.

We had EI at our house for an evaluation for other stuff and we were told no more than 2 - 10 minute intervals per day.

I was told 20-30 minutes at a time, and that it was bad if they were flat footed b/c of their hip development.

Might as well admit it, I too have Jumerpoo addicts. They used to be like yours, they would still try and jump even after you took them out, but finally stopped doing that. Mine don't stay in longer than 30 minutes and I always make sure their feet aren't resting flat on the ground. I usually stick them in there after meals so I can clean up.

One of my DD's was a jumperoo addict, we'd let her be in there up to about 25 minutes at a time. She'd have stayed in there all day if it were up to her!

Don't feel bad... I have an addict too!! Jonah has been in his since about 2 1/2 months! Just like yours if he's not in the jumper he has be stimulated like he's being jumped and in the standing position (the other could care less about being jumped - he's my happy couch potato).

I also was told no more then 20-30 minutes but in order to keep peace in the house we let him go nuts in it. We sometimes bounce him ourselves to get him going (he likes wild jumping - nothing but rough for him) but normally after about 30 minutes he crashes out and takes naps in it!

I also worry about his hips and take them both to exercise class to stimulate his hips and to get his feet and mind off of bouncing .... I know I probably keep him in it too much but I bless the inventor of the seat because it has been a saviour in our house.

My kids were like that too! I would take them out and they would wear out my arms from jumping! I think 20 minutes or so is ok!
