We're still in absolute shock
Here's our story: On Friday morning, May 18th, I went to my scheduled OB appt. When my Dr examined me she found that my cervix was 5 cm dilated and 90% effaced. She immediately sent me to Labor and Delivery. I was only 30 wks and 3 days. When I got to the hospital, I was 6 cm dilated but stretched to 8 cm during contractions. Baby A was a footling breech and they were afraid that if my water broke he would fall. So, it was decided that it would be safer for the babies to deliver them by c-section that day. Jonathan Pierce Jr. was born at 3:38pm weighing 3lbs and 5 ozs, 16 1/4 inches long, kicking and screaming. Jenna Maria was born at 3:40 weighing 3 lbs even and 15 3/4 inches long. Her entire left side was bruised by my ribs during the pregnancy. I felt so sorry for her. When they were 3 hrs old, they both started to work to hard to breath, so they put both of them on a vent and transported them to the Children's hospital NICU. 7 hrs later, both came off the vent. Now they don't even need any oxygen suppliment! They are on tube feeds and doing well with that. I'm struggling with the EBMilk, but I hope to be able to supply them fully soon. Our hospital uses a donor breast milk bank, so that makes up the difference for now. Jonathan has been having lots of a's and b's, but we're told he'll out grow it soon and they put him on caffine for a while. Other than this, we're doing AWSOME!!!! I'm so proud of my little angels :yahoo: 2 wks ago I started major pre-term labor and was on Mag, Indocin, Brethine/Turbutiline, and had a negative Ffn. I also was on the progestrone injections since week 16. We did get the steroid injections at 26 weeks, and it has definately paid off. I'll post pics as soon as I can.
Prayers for my babies and our family please :D

Congratulations!!! I am so glad to hear that they are doing well. This must be such a hard time for you, to be away from your babies, but it sounds like it will only be a matter of time before they are home with you!!!! You should be so proud that you were able to hold out as long as you did!!!!

Congratulations!!! What an encouraging story. I too have been experiencing preterm labor since week 20 so we looked so forward to 24 weeks, then 28, etc. I'm at 32 weeks now and your story really puts my mind at ease. I'm so happy for you!

Congratulations on the birth of your babies. I had my two at 29 weeks 3 days - they were 2 lbs 8oz and 2lbs 13oz. We spent 10 weeks in the NICU - it was rough but it gets easier, and my guys are doing great now! If you have any questions a great resource is Preemies: The essential guide for parents of premature infants - it explained a lot of what goes on in the NICU - and don't forget to come and visit us in the NICU forum with any questions you might have - there are a lot of us who have been through the NICU experience!

Here is pics from 2 days old. They aren't very good, they were under billi lights for jaundice. Now the lights are gone and so are the "sunglasses". Things are good for the most part. Still having about 9 A's and B's a day, but we're told to expect that. They did get there feeding increased too. They both have PICC lines, but at least they're not getting new IV sites all the time. Jonathan is full of personallity. He smiles and is very alert. He also lets you know when he needs something, screams if you dont feed him on time :)
Jenna is sleepier, but also full of expression. I'll post better pics tomorrow.
    Keep prayin'!!!!
