My peri said that I'm at risk of pre-term labor. My cervix dropped to 2.5 so he said no cleaning, housechores, no mall shopping, no supermarket, no laundry
just stay off my feet.. so it is kind of like modified bed rest. He did say I could go to the pool :). I wish I could get a list
of things I can do, my dh wants me on the couch all day... I think that is a little bit to much.
I wish I knew exactly what I can and can't do, for example, can I stand up to cook for a while or is that considered housechores as well? I feel silly asking
the dr. when I go ...any suggestions?

I wouldn't hesitate to ask the doctor exactly what your bedrest entails. :hug99: I hope it helps!

absolutely! ask docs asap what you CAN and CANNOT do. i was put on STRICT bedrest at 20 weeks, due to a short cervix. i had to quit my job on the spot. i was only able to get up to potty and shower only...no cooking, no shopping, no cleaning! it sucked! but our babies made it to 36.5 weeks! never feel embarrased or guilty about asking anything! better the doc and staff know you by name than by your chart number. the babies have no control over what happens, but you do! and your doctors do too...that's what they're there for!

best of luck for a happy pregnancy!!!

Some offices have a list they can give you of dos and don'ts. I know it seems extreme, but hang in there. Every day counts!

    Good Luck!

    Hi!

I am also on modified bedrest due to shortening cervix and funneling. I was actually told it's ok to cook, just not to spend a lot of time standing (don't fix a meal like Thanksgiving dinner!). Everyone is different, so it's probably best to ask your dr. I have been on bedrest for 6 days now, but it feels like 6 weeks! But, anything for our babies, right?!

Take care and we'll get through this!

I just joined also. Today is day 6 of bed rest for me as well. I'm 27 weeks and 2 days with twin boys. I've been really fortunately to have a lot of friends stop by this week, and my MIL is coming on Tuesday for three weeks to help. I was told no cleaning, no primary childcare, no shopping, and no driving myself. The Dr. said it was definitely time for Grandma to come up. So we're just taking it super easy, i only get up when i absolutely need to, I'd rather stay home with my 3 & 4 year old girls then spend a few weeks in the hospital.
