Joining the Club!

    Hello everyone!
    My husband just found out last Monday that we will be having twins (boy/girl). We had no idea but wet in at 17 weeks for an u/s because of high readings on the quad screen- I was certain the baby was just older than I had figured...but there are two! I'm now 18 weeks and have my next appointment next week so they can so another u/s and do measurements, etc. Very exciting, but also a little intimidating as these will be our first and as we have been saying- we barely know what to do with one baby! The family is unbelievably excited (my mom is an identical twin and is already planning on us all going to Twinsfest in Ohio). So much to do still!!! So glad to have found a place to read, learn, etc!

    Congrats and welcome! It is a little daunting at first, just take one step at a time and you'll be fine :) Plus this is a great support system to turn to if you need it.

    Congratulations! I can't imagine finding out at that time! At least you still have some time to prepare! I love how you described it... 'my husband found out we were having twins!' Teehee! :D Welcome to the b/g club!

    Ha! I didn't actually mean to type it that way! We both found out! I had no idea!! We were sent to a high risk OB because of the quad screen results and I was POSITIVE that the baby was just older than I estimated. I did think I was getting big awfully fast for not being very far along, but I just figured I was farther along! The first U/S looks like there is only one baby, I only ever heard one heartbeat...it had come up and I insisted NO WAY are there two in there! Surprise!

    But I haven't been sick at all, I've had no problems whatsoever, and I probably won't ever be pregnant again so...so far so good!

    Congratulations and welcome! This is also my first pregnancy and of course the twins were totally unexpected. I found out a little over 5 weeks ago and we have gone from complete shock (not about the pregnancy but about the twins) to being incredibly excited about this journey we are on. We just think of it as an amazing and special experience that most people don't get to have. :)
