My girls just turned 2 yesterday, but they are both 36" tall which is definitely on the taller end of the spectrum. I just bought them some 2T jeans that are big in the waste but barely long enough. Thankfully their diapers do a pretty good job holding them up.

I am thinking I am going to have to move up a size (which would be a 3T) for length, but I am worried they would be way too big in the waste. Or is the waste smaller in 3T's since by 3 they are usually PT'd and don't need that extra diaper space?? Or is there anywhere that sells 2T Long jeans?

Hailey is like that too ... I bought her jeans at the Children's Place in 3T. They have those jeans that are adjustable ... so I just pull them to the smallest size ... then they fit at the waste, but are long enough. And they are cute!

Oshkosh has adjustable waist jeans too. Ana is my tall girl and I got her 3t for length (they are actually a little too long, but they'll last longer!), and I cinch them at the waist (and tuck her shirts in. Oh and I got these Oshkosh jeans at Target.

    Adjustable waists for the win.

I was going to suggest Children's Place, too! I have to buy Nadia's jeans there, as she is crazy tall and thin...the adjustable waist helps a lot.

Karina is 39 inches tall. I don't even bother with real pants for her -- just leggings that can be worn as capris, LOL.

ETA -- Happy birthday to your girls! And, welcome to the big-kid forum. :)

I don't have girls but the problem is every bit as bad with boys. And yes, just wait until they PT and you no longer have the diaper's help... it gets ugly.

I've had pretty good luck with Old Navy. OshKosh has jeans and pants in a SLIM size and they're slender from the waist to the ankles so you don't end up with the baggy behind look that the adjustable waists give when you cinch them in so far. My best advice, though, is to measure the waist on a pair that fits well and then carry a measuring tape in your handbag. If you measure the pants flat, it only takes a second to measure things on the hanger. I do this now because there is so much variance and inconsistency in sizing that two pairs of the same style and brand of pants in different colors might not measure the same! It's annoying as anything to get home with two coordinating outfits only to find one doesn't fit. :headbang:

I always have to get Emilie jeans with the adjustable waistband. I can't buy her anything without it. I know Kohl's has some jeans and I also found some Genuine Kids at Target with it as well. :good: I am going to need to get her 4T soon for the length and will definitely need it then. I'd get them 3T with the adjustable waistband. :good:

Target made 'slim' jeans w/ adjustable waists....that is the only way for us to go!

C hildren Place has adjustables, but even cinched up, they are too big if we get the 'right ' length.

We do a lot of leggings w/ dresses. My girls are tall and skinnytoo---it got harder once we lost the diapers!!!

My girls are super slender and on the taller size..Old Navy jeans works the best for us. I don't buy any jeans unless they have the adjustable waist..I just got back from Kohls and every pair of jeans I bought had the adjustable waist..a big plus for us!!

I was going to ditto the Old Navy suggestions. My girls are tall, but not thin, and I find Old Navy to be too skinny for them. So it should work out well.

ditto to all the childrens place, osh kosh, and old navy. i have some hand-me-downs from ally's cousin from gymboree with adjustable waists as well, so check there too. target also has some--so basically that adjustable elastic waist is the key. we just pt'd this summer and keeping shorts and skirts up has been a challenge around here, too....happy birthday to your big girls! good to see you "over here"

I agree - adjustable waists! We have to turn up the bottoms of the boys' 2T jeans (adjusted to the tightest notch)... guess they're going to be shorties. :unknw:

Happy birthday to your little sweethearts!
