Jake and Ryan turn ONE today!

I really can't believe it, but it's been a full year since my boys were born. We had a party (thanks to the encouragement here) and it was a blast. They got a lot of great stuff too! I didn't stress about the party and really didn't even start stuff for it until a few days before (even though I had all the ideas).

I just wanted to take a moment and thank you ladies in First Year for all of the support and advice. We'll all eventually be in 1-4 together and I look forward to seeing you there. Of course I'll still pop in here to help when I can!

My advice for new moms, especially moms of preemies, is to IGNORE what everyone elses kid is doing and encourage your children to do things at their own pace. I tried so hard not to compare my boys, but I think it's just a mom thing to worry that your child isn't doing something when "all" the other babies are. I had to keep telling myself that they would do it when they were ready, but I still worried. Looking back at this first year, they did everything they needed to, just a month or two after others their age. In the end, they've all accomplished the same milestones.

Does it feel like time just flew by to you too? I still have a month and a half but it is crazy to me that it has almost been a year.
