The girls had there "8wk" jabs yesterday and the poor little things are not right today  They haven't eaten nearly as much food as normal, there snivelly and very mardy. Altho they have slept most of the day they are unsettled now. Is this because of the jabs or just coincidence? If it is how long do they suffer like this for? It's no fun for them or me x

Most doctors will tell you it's coincidence, but I know for mine, they were extra sleepy for a few days after both of the early sets of shots (2 month and 4 month...6 month wasn't so bad). DS would get a little extra fussy (but he's a really happy baby so even fussy isn't too bad), but DD would act totally different. I actually split up her last set and had half one day and the other half two weeks later because she had such a reaction the first two times. Her symptoms lasted almost a week, where DS's fussiness was over in about 2 days.

 Never fun! Yes, it affects them a little, but they should be better by tomorrow. Did you give them some Tylenol? It's always sad when our babies aren't themselves!

my girls were always a little fussier & sleepier after their shots. they also both ran low grade fevers as well - we were told it was fine to give them infant tylenol if needed, so we did. they were usually back to normal within 48 hours.

my guys got their 6 month shots today and they're absolutely miserable. what we've experienced, however, is that they're fine in less than 24 hours. you can give them a weight-appropriate dose of tylenol if they seem like they're aching.

Mine usually had a case of the grouchies when they got their shots. Usually a dose of Tylenol and a good nap was what they needed.

In the future if you can (if they're at home with you and not in daycare) you might want to limit the amount of shots they get in one visit. I only do two at a time and it has made a huge difference. My doctor is fine with that as long as I'm getting them vaccinated! 25 shots (for babies in the US) is a lot for the first year especially when you're dealing with two babies at the same time.

they're better but their feedings today were a bit off, too. they've got some residual crabbiness but other than that they're much improved.

I'm glad they are over the worst! The girls are still not eating as much but they are eating.

Taurus twins - thankyou for the suggestion of splitting the jabs, i will ask at our G.P'S. Someone mentioned that the first set are ALWAYS worse than the 2nd and 3rd?

They are both full of cold and i am too, Amber had an episode before bed last night, it was awful!!! Poor lil lamb was redhot, full of snot and crying her heart out. Then she just k o'd for a few hours but her snotty nose kept us all up till the early hrs. They are both sleepin like angels now though. xxxx
