I've HAD IT with the poopy parties!

Today's afternoon nap didn't happen. No, they played for a bit and then I heard "poopy" over the monitor so I went to peek.

It warmed up here, you see, and they were horribly sweaty after their morning nap in their fleece sleep sacks. So, since they had pooped a couple of times already, I took a chance and put a onesie under their outfits for the afternoon nap instead of sacking them. I should have known better...

If it slowed him down at all, it wasn't by much and the onesie certainly did not stop Trent. He had everything off except the onesie (which was still snapped!) And then he danced in the poop, of course, and smeared some in his hair for good measure.

Trevor didn't need to poop but still wanted to join in the fun so he made himself vomit and then painted his sheet and hair with puke.

You can imagine how excited I was by my discovery.

SO, the new plan is to make a pair of "napsacks". I already have a basic coverall pattern so with a few modifications, I believe I can construct something that will be toddler resistant and much cooler than the fleece sacks. And, since they wouldn't sleep, I threw them in the car and we went and got materials for the project. Unfortunately, they didn't have the "prisoner stripe" fabric I had envisioned but they had basic blue. I'm prewashing now. My mom laughed and told me they'll have it figured out in no time but we'll see. If this doesn't work, I'll have to research straight jacket construction.

Of course I know I cannot stop the puke party with a coverall but it is my belief that the puke party was in response to the poopy party already going on next door. Seeing it certainly made me want to barf.

OMG, how funny!! Well, for us readers, certainly not for you! I've been there, my girls had poopy parties for nearly a year and I tried everything, too. Please post a picture of your invention when you sew it up! I would love to see it. If it works you could easily market it and I'm NOT kidding!!!!!!

What a mess. YOu are a great writer, though. I'm still giggling!

[IMG] OMG you poor thing. I think the HALO sleep sacks come in a light cotton material as well as fleece. So if your project doesn't work out you can always order those.

[IMG] Sorry, I had to laugh at your prisoner stripe and straight jacket comments. You poor thing, I think I would have gotten sick at thr sight of their poop party. Yuk!

I hope that your idea works!

I hate to admit it, but my mom said that I did the same thing, day after day, for every nap! [IMG] It used to drive her crazy.

I've been waiting for the pay back, but thank god, it hasn't happened yet. Whew!

I'm so sorry you're having to deal with that.

    Good luck with your invention.

i know this isnt funny for you right now, but the way you write brings out my giggles. Granted, I'm running on little/no sleep today, so every reaction I have is pretty much a non sequitor.

I know they do and the XL would likely fit for the entire Summer but I don't think they would do well without the foot holes. I've already written to the company begging them to offer the Big Kid sack in a slightly smaller size and they ignored me but I think I'll write again and tell them that Summer is coming and they should offer it in cotton.

Anyway, I took one of their current "Big Kid" sacks, pinned a fold in the middle to make it a bit shorter, laid it out on the piece of fabric, and traced around it. I then used that piece as a template to make a couple of pieces for the front and some cuffs. There was a lot of eyeball measuring involved and the final product is little rough but I now have two functional copies of the "Big Kid" sacks in a cotton knit. Upside down zippers and all.

Oh no! That sounds awful, more like my worst nightmare, you are super mommy! My girls went through a stage a while back where they would gag themselves but Soph only made herself puke a little once. It was awful. They still do it occasionally but only if they seem bored so I try to distract them. Is there any way you could put them in seperate rooms? Good luck! let us know how the "sack" works!

You have a great sense of humor. I can't stop laughing at your description of the dancing in the poop, then the throw up party to join in!

I love the pinstripe outfits as well!

I'm so sorry! If it makes you feel any better, Brody refuses to take naps, and he'll strip so he can poop. Heaven forbid should he poop in his pull-ups! Then of course, he has to feel how it feels, then since it doesn't feel good, he'll throw it. . . I can't say that we've had the throw up party though!
