Not that this is a competition or anything, but both girls said Mamamama before saying Dadadada. Ana said it last month as her first 'word' but now only says Dadadada and Lalalala and Babababa, but thats ok because she said it first!!!

Meara started saying NehNehNeh two days ago and yesterday (on Dh's birthday) she started saying Mamamama. It actually sounds like MehMehMeh (anyone watch South Park? She sounds a little like Cartman), but I'll take it!

So its all documented in their baby books with dates in case Dh tries to refute this when they get older, but like I said its not a competition or anything ;)

How exciting! I can't wait for mine to start talking. One of mine is always "ooohhhhh"ing and "aaaaaahhhhhhh" ing and I think even this is SO cool! The other one just does what sounds like "key" but drawn out and really spitty. I love it!

Way to win the competition! How did that get there? Isn't it sweet when they say mama first?

I have one that said "mama" first and one that said "dada" first. So I guess we both one--except they both say "dada" now and only still the one saying "mama". :(

Lucky you! DS just says dadada (like that VW commercial), which figures, since he's daddy's little boy. But you'd think DD, who's mommy's little girl, would give me a good mamama - but NOOOOO! Her favorite word is bababa.

  9. Yeah, those were my twins first words too! DD said Dada first, so I was more than excited to get Mama this time x2!!!

The boys are nine months. One's first word was uh oh. I say that to them all the time. One said mama first and the other said dada first. They can both ask for baba and now both can say mama and dada and one can say pawpaw. Nana must be harder because I have been working with them on that for weeks and neither will attempt it. But they have called me both mama and dada so this nana is cool with that. When they get really tired and want to be rocked to sleep they will say something close to nana, but I'm not claiming that one yet until I'm sure. They began mimicking and repeating grunts and sounds a couple of months ago and would do it on cue - but just like uh - but they would repeat it exactly. But I sit and work with them and talk with them the entire day. The only time I'm in here is when they are napping, but they are extremely good boys.

Congratulations! All of my boys said dada first. My older boys then said ball, then dog. Finally, came MaMa (their 4th word). Colin just said ball for the first time, yesterday! So it looks like they are following in their brothers footsteps!
