I had the ultrasound this morning. The lump was dried milk and blood in a 'dead duct'! :bad: Its gone, he removed it, but it looked kind of like strawberry milk sprinkled with pepper. GROSS!!
We were all so sure it was a cyst because it felt like a marble and could move around.

He recommended I start weaning (slowly of course) because that would have turned into another case of mastitis, and he checked my ducts and they are still a mess with little clogs all over. :pardon:

I am glad it isn't a tumor! You were in the process of weaning anyway, right?

Yeah but my idea of weaning could bring us to their 2nd birthday! ;) I dropped one feeding about 10 days ago and I am thinking about dropping another before their birthday, right now I am still really full though. But their first-thing-in-the-morning and last-thing-at-night-before-bed are going to be REALLY tough so I am not in any hurry to drop those... yet.

I understand 'dragging your feet!' Make sure to pump a little bit if you feel engorged.. just enough to relieve pressure, but not enough to stimulate milk production!

I would take the weaning extra slow with your issues, especially if you are feeling full at all. IMO, and it may not matter much, lol, the "damage" is already done and weaning too fast could only HURT you more by causing more clogs, so take it super slow!!!!!!

I agree with Kristi. I had the same issues...remember my picture of pumped bloody milk? I took a full month to wean. I am so glad you are ok! Take your time and pat yourself on the back.

Famous last words! Would you like me to use my mod superpowers and delete that so you don't jinx yourself and find out the answer?

Seriously, YIKES! I'm very glad it wasn't a tumor, but OH, your poor girls! (And I don't mean the babies! ;) ) Do they have any idea what caused this?

Hope that weaning goes smoothly and you recover from all this...

That is great news. However, I'm sorry your body is forcing you into weaning sooner then you planned.
