OK all you yankies, don't laugh at us wussie Texans, but it's finally starting to feel a little fall-ish down here! In other words, the lows are in the 60's and 50's! It seems weird to just have them in a pair of jammies, no covers, blankets, etc, but I guess this is normal? I'm just worried they're little noses and hands are goign to get so cold! What do you put your babies in at night in places where it really is cold!?!? My babies are way too big for swaddling...

Which jammies are the warmest? Are the Gerber ones that come in a 2-pack at Target and Wal-Mart any good?

    TIA,

    Jennifer

We're up north where it's getting down to freezing at night, and our boys do great in fleece footed pjs. Our favorites are Carter's. They're very soft and heavy enough to keep them warm but not hot. We get the Carter's at Costco, but they also have them (for a lot more money of course) at BRU and dept. stores. I haven't tried the Gerber ones.

We heat our house to 70 degrees 24/7 so they don't get too cold. For just the two of us under our down comforter we used to have it at 65 at night.

Every now and then they seem to have cold hands when they wake up, but it's very rare. They never wake up from being too cold, so I assume they are comfy.

Hi! I'm here in Houston too.

Right now my little ones sleep in long sleeve onesies. I cover them with a thin blanket & a warmer one that I put over the thin one. Sometime during the night they wake up having kicked off all the blankets..I'll have to go out to get them something warmer this weekend.

I have found gerber clothes some what on the small side.

We are up here in cold MN, and I put the babies in onsies and footed fleece pajamas.

Carters footed sleepers are by far the thickest and comfiest in my opinion (I like zippers vs snaps). You can find them at Costco, Sams Club and the Carters stores for around $6-$8/piece (compared to $15-$20 at BRU).

I also have the Gerber ones from WalMart/Target, and they are just fine too - just not as comfy and they run REALLY small, so if you buy them, buy up a size.

yep we go with footed fleece from carters or i love gap and gymboree too but they are not as warm as carters. We use no covers, DH used one one night when i was out on a scrapbook night and she had it wrapped over her head. EEK! I told him no covers and warm sleepers but he did not listen. LOL... Imagine that ... They have cold hands very now and then but nothing they wake from... We try to keep teh house around 70-72 degrees...

We also use Carter's pj's and a onesie for now. It's about the same temp you are experiencing.

HEY!!!! Another Houston mom here...we need a group or something! I am totally loving this weather although I'm sure that by the time I finish typing this it will be 96 degrees again. Mine are sleeping in the Gerber long sleeved pants onesies with the feet in. No covers. Night before last, they wore a onesie and their sleepsack and they were fine. Our house is staying between 72 and 75 degrees (no AC/heat running). They are in fact pretty small, but not to where they're uncomfortable. I just adore seeing them all covered up. There are pictures of their first "chilly" walk on my blog if you care to check it out.

I'm not in Houston, but man...I left here to go to Target tonight and I was FREEZING! It wouldn't be so bad if it weren't so windy! And believe it or not, my DH opened all of the windows in the house.

I'm in Houston too! I just bought 8 sets of Carter's (Just One Year) footed pjs from another twin mom in the North West Houston Mothers of Multiples group for $30. We love them... they're soft and thick and the boys stay warm all night. I'm loving the cool weather (finally!) but I wish it wasn't so windy so we could stay outside longer and enjoy it!

I'm a Houston area mom too!! We used to buy the Carters fleece footed pjs. They were very soft and warm. If you are in the Sugar Land area, there is a store in the shopping center next to First Colony Mall. Katy Mills mall also has a Carters store. I'm loving this weather too!!
