It's been difficult- **loss mentioned**

i had an emergency c-section last wednesday. Unfurtunally the news aren't the best, baby B died because the umbilical cord was around the neck. I went for U/S and NST last wednesday and they couldn't find the heart beat of one baby and the U/S confirm the worst. I went to the hospital, and at 6.30 pm they make me the c-section. God give just one healthy baby Emma Teresa (the middle name is mine and my grandma who I pray a lot for help to save her). Emma stay one day at NICU to make tests to make sure she was OK, they were afraid of blood transfusion. The baby who died, we named Grace Sofia (Sofia is like her big sister), she was identical to Emma, she still was pink, just the mouth was purple! They think that happens recently, but we sign for they make an autopsy. I never suspect nothing, they were moving very well in my belly. It was a choque, I am tryng to be strong for Emma and Ines but it's been difficult! Ines ask me many times where is the other baby, we said she is in heaven look to her, she is an angel, but sometimes she insists that she wanna see her. We made a funeral just for family, I didn't went because I was in the hospital and it was very cold.
I hope everybody have a safe pregnancy and I pray who's pregnant for this kind the things doesn't happen again. Nobody deserve to suffer like that. I cry a lot, I look Emma and I always gonna see Grace on her. They were identical twins!!!!!

I am so, so, so sorry. I wish I could say or do more, but I just don't know where to begin. I'm sorry. You and your girls (all of them) and the rest of your family will be on my mind and in my heart.

We do have a forum that may be helpful, Parental Grief, you may find support there with others who have had the same experiences.
I dont blame you for not coming back to TS as it would be hard but please know my thoughts are with you.

Liliana, please don't give up on TS. Come to our Parental Grief forum. Six years I was right where you are: during a routine ultrasound we found out one of my twins had died a few days before.

I posted all the time on PG - I could not have made it without the support I recieved there. Losing a child seems like a lonely road to be on, but unfortunately you're not alone. Losing a twin is difficult because of the conflicting emotions you probably have. The joy for Emma and the sorrow for Grace are such different emotions that occur at the same time.

thank you everybody for the support! Today Emma is one week old and she's doing well. when I feel prepare i will pass by at PG. I am sure I can't get some help there. We are trying live day by day, but the most thought thing is that I can't go visit Grace. It's been so cold for I live the house, i hope this cold weather go away for I can go there to pray and put some flowers, I feel a bad mom for I can't go there, but I know if I get sick, it's not good for Emma!

 

You're not a bad mom; you're taking care of a little girl who needs you very much. I am glad Emma is doing well :hug:

 

Oh Liliana, I am so sorry to hear about your loss. Congratulations for Emma though, I wish you that she's healthy and brings you joy. You need to be strong for her and your family. I am the result of such a story also, I was a twin and my twin sister died at birth - my mom says we were identical also. So your story is very personal to me, especially since I had twins myself so I can see both sides of it. You and your family will be in our thoughts and prayers. I am sure Grace is an angel watching over all of you from Heaven.

I'm SO sorry for your loss. I read your post when you posted and couldn't even respond because it brought back all the memories of when we lost Simlai right before the birth. I know the pain of losing one of twins and I think the fact that it's a very unique loss adds to the feelings of loneliness and that no one 'gets it'. It's a tough road, but your Emma will be there to brighten your days and teach you to smile again.
