BOY!!! Well we had our level II u/s today and I've been so anxious and excited about it, everythign went great, he's measuring right on time, a little ahead which is great. Boy parts are definitely there and we got a great profile pic, I think he's gonna look a lot like mommy (hehehe). They even got to see the four chambers of the heart which is great for that gestation, the tech did think we would be in for another growth scan b/c it was before the 18 weeks, but since we had issues starting at 17 weeks we'd rather go in early than later. We also had a cervical check and my cervix is measuring at 3.27, and the stitch is in place, no funneling, I was so relieved. On another note, I had taken a letter from the Dr, to work so they could lighten my duties, at least have me sit, instead of stand and walk around so much, I'm an Ophthalmic Tech, and we walk around quite a bit and it's a constant up and down process, anyways my boss asked if I could give her until June to make these new arrangements, hence I took her the note in early April. Well the new schedule came out and guess what no change in my schedule, so I asked her about it and she said she had a lot of people on vacation this month and needed me to work with her until July, IS SHE NUTS!, I said ok,spoke to my DH who was infuriated to say the least, we decided on our appt June 9th, which is the soonest my Dr. has b/c she's on vacation, I'm going to ask to be on bedrest, and stay home, I just can't risk something happening and me not doing everything in my power to prevent it. So she will be very surprised but what else can I do? So ladies thanks for letting me share this and vent as well. Happy Friday!!!
Congratulations on your baby boy!! I hope things get better at work and with your boss...you'd think they would be more accommodating.
Yeah for boys. Im so excited for you Jamey. Definetly ask for bed rest. Im technically on it, but have been coming in to work (but mine is very laid back) to train the owners wife on somethings so when I do need to be out full time, someone can keep up with my stuff. Keep up posted. I hve my next Level II growth scan on Thursday, Im so excited.
Congratulations on your little boy! Definitely take whatever steps you need to at work...you must do what's best for you and baby!
Congrats on a boy! I think you are being very reasonable...your boss isn't complying with what your doctor wanted, so what else can you do? I think it's ridiculous that your boss isn't making these changes considering your history...it's extremely insensitive, and some might argue discriminatory...so you really are being left with very little choice.
