It's a mystery.

Two boys go into a bathroom. One comes out asking for help with his pants snap. A moment passes and the other calls that he's "DONE!" (code for needs a wipe). But, when I come in, I find something unexpected. One boy sitting on the potty, pee all over the seat and dripping down the toilet, his pants and undies dry and on the floor nearby, shirt soaked front and back with pee, no poop in the potty. Well, he had a wet toot so that explained why he's "done" but why is there pee everywhere? When questioned, the suspect implicated his brother (his standard answer so we'll consider him an unreliable witness). Could Trent really have peed all over the seat and his brother all the while they were both completely silent? AND, they agreed to pretend nothing had happened except that mom had to go and ask a bunch of annoying questions...

Sadly, this appears to be teamwork at its best. I doubt you will ever find out what happened!

Oh, and water torture (aka an unwanted shower for the pee-drenched boy) didn't pry any additional information. Yeah, it's starting to be funny now but I wasn't amused yesterday since they did this 10 minutes before I had to leave for an appointment. I was late with a story nobody with singletons would believe.

I am so sorry. Of course, the best time to do this type of teamwork seems to be right before you need to leave to be somewhere. At least, that's how it happens in our house.

I still remember DH having to teach the boys the first rule from Ghostbusters: never ever cross the streams. After they learned that important lesson, they are not allowed in the bathroom at the same time.

If you hadn't said the BACK of his shirt was wet too, I'd have diagnosed the problem as urination with semi-erection.

Yesterday before bath N was on the potty (he likes to scoot to the back and fling his legs to the side like he's on a horse) and J hopped up and sat down and peed at the same time. I was totally surprised by the move, but they didn't blink an eye, which suggests to me it wasn't the first time they had pulled that trick.
