It's 2 boys! Zhen and Zeal have arrived! Birth Story

[SIZE=12pt]Well our waiting has finally paid off, Zhen and Zeal have made their appearance! We feel so blessed.

I went to my peri. appt. yesterday and was chomping down my lunch (big mac meal) in the parking garage just before my appt. When I went in, they checked babies and noticed that the fluid around Baby A was on the low side (4) and was also measuring small (approx. 34.5 weeks/ est. weight 5lbs 5oz). So, to be on the safe side, they asked me to go ahead, and admit myself to have the babies! I couldn't believe it. It was happening so fast. But I stayed calm and knew that everything was going to be fine.

When I got there, they said I had to wait approx. 8 hrs because I had just eaten. Thanks McDonald's! During that time, I was able to relax, watch some TV, and read the "C-section-things I wish I knew" post one more time!

So I waited patiently and by 9:45 they wheeled me into the OR. Everything went smoothly and I didn't freak out with the spinal block like I thought I would have. Once they were ready, Dr. asked, "Daddy, here's Baby A, what is it?" "A boy" Zhen, made his appearance, butt first, at 10:15 weighing in at 6 lbs. 8 oz. Then Dr. asked once again, "Here's Baby B, what is it Daddy?" "Another boy", Zeal, made his appearance at 10:16 weighing in at 5 lbs. 15 oz.

I was a little confused! Baby A was actually larger than Baby B? Not sure how that happened and I don't care, both babies are doing awesome. Zhen had to have a little oxygen once he came out but after about 15 minutes, he joined his brother and my hubby and I in the OR. I couldn't keep my eyes off of them.

We are now in our room and both boys are nursing like champs! The lactation specialist will be here this morning to help me nurse both boys at the same time. I'm having difficulties since my equipment is on the larger side.

I asked to walk as soon as I could and they actually got me up at around 5 am to walk. It wasn't bad at all! But, I am also keeping on top of my meds. The boys have been sleeping soundly in between feedings. This is why I've had time to post this! Zhen reminds me when it's time to eat again and I have to tickle, pinch, and pester Zeal to stay awake to eat. These boys are less than 12 hours old and I am starting to see personalities already!

I am so glad everything went well for you and two healthy babies were brought into your arms. That is so awesome that daddy got to pass the news of baby's gender. God has blessed you so greatly.

Wonderful birth story! I'm glad things are going so well. So do the boys look alike? Or do you already know they are identical or fraternal? Anyways, can't wait to see pictures of them. And yes, God is good!

wow, I thought you werent having them for a few more weeks or something. Congratulations!!! Love the names by the way... Glad everythings going great and keep us posted. Dont forget pictures!

Ohhh I'm in tears! We don't know the gender, as you know, and I LOVEDDDD the way they let your DH announce it! That was beyond the most beautiful gift ever to have! I hope the same happens for us.... God is good, an amazing artist of life!
