I am 29 weeks pregnant and my stomach itches where my stretch marks are. I do not have PUPPS or any sort of rash. Can you girls recommend what you use on your stomachs if they itch. Nothing seems to help.

I can remember horribly itching throughout the whole first trimeseter. Just about drove me insane. I just used a lot of lotion with an oatmeal base to it. I also soaked in aveeno bath to help relieve my skin. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy.

The only remedy I found helpful was body butter.

    Oh, and lots of scratching!

I have the same thing, depressing since I've used Palmer's strech mark lotion since day one (i'm 34wks now). It got soo irritating I begged doc for some answers. She said to use hydrocortisone 1% only in spots that need it - don't lather it one, use only as needed. Of course, check with your doc before using any of this advice, but that's what mine said. It seems to help. Strech marks are a badge of honor... or so I hear :)

:good: This is what my OB recommended as well. I'd ask your OB first though. I had HORRIBLE belly itching, especially towards the end. One time I had scratched my belly so much during the night {and apparently on a bare belly} that I left big scratch marks! I was mortified when I had to go and have my NST done. I kept explaining myself to the nurses as I didn't want them to think I was a mean mom already. :pardon: It seriously looked like Freddy Krueger got a hold of me!

This reminds me of my first pregnancy. I was scratching my stomach constantly and the Mustela cream that I paid $35-40 for wasn't helping at all! I didn't get but a few stretch marks, but it drove me nuts!

Then I tried the same type of cream on my stomach during my 2nd pregnancy. My stomach broke out in an itchy rash immediately. OMGosh! I about died. It was the cream that I was having a reaction to the whole time and not just an itchy stretching belly. Wow, I was relieved, but had to shake my head at that one. I can't believe I didn't figure it out the first time. LOL

I wish I had some advice for you! I hope it gets better soon.

 I itch like a monkey too, and just recently my friend commented that I look realli unglam scratching away in public! I couldn't care less, it just itches like a bad bad bad bad rash!! I was told to use anti-stretch mark cream twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening after shower, and I also realized that hot shower tends to leave my skin drier so I try to shower with moderate, tolerable cool water!
