I feed my LO's in their boppies on my bed. I put both of them in there and went around the corner to grab their bottles and.............THUD!! My DD was on the ground crying.

I was totaly fearing this because she has become very mobile with rolling around. She actually rolled herself out of the boppy and had to of done two more rolls to get out of the bed. I have a King size bed.

She was fine after a few minutes of crying with no bruises, swelling, or pain with me touching her all over. I am a paramedic, but it is much harder when it is your kid. It easy for me to evaluate other peoples kids.

    Has this happened to others?

Oh yes! My DS fell out of the bed, a couple days after he went to the emergency room because I accidently sliced his finger with the arm rest of the airplane!!!!!
I felt like I definitly deserved the worst mother of the week award!!!!

Lesson learned, from now on put them on the floor! they are growing up :)

One of mine, Finley, fell off of our couch when he was 4 weeks old. I sobbed, felt horrible, called the on-call doctor b/c it was 3:00 a.m.. The memory of him laying face down on the hard floor still haunts me - but he was totally fine. The doctor said it happens a lot.

Don't be hard on yourself!!

My Alyssa fell off our bed last month. I felt so bad. We put one in our room sometimes when one's being cranky and won't let the other nap.. yeah she apparently crawled to the end of the bed and reached for something on the nightstand and then 'crash-boom' she hit her chin on the nightstand on her way down. I investigated the scene afterwards and saw the thing she was going for on the ground. Poor thing. I felt So bad..

That said. I think every parent goes through that at one point or another. Just got to be thankful she's alright.

My William is a supreme roller and now crawler. He's been difficult to change on the changing table so I thought I'd dress him on the small bed in his room, that isn't high off the ground and is over a rug. Well, I turned to grab his clothes and before I knew it, I saw him go head-first off the bed. He was just fine. He cried a tiny bit until I picked him up, then he smiled. No bumps, no bruises... but I was shattered!

Yes, this did happen to us. to you. I know I felt terribly when it did but DD was fine after she got over the shock of it all. I think I was more shook up then she was.

about that time - 5-6mo is when my ds inched his way off the king size bed... ugh! and then another time he rolled off a couple of weeks later... both on "my watch" - so heartbreaking.

that's when I created "baby jail" and I feed in there and they play when they are done. I was worried how to handle the logistics when they are done feeding and you need to change them... how do you pick one up and leave the other... our "baby jail" works wonderfully!

don't beat yourself up, it does happen, just try to be a step ahead of them!

Actually, my DS just did this Sunday night! He rolled right out of his boppy and onto the floor! I felt horrible because I was just at the dresser! I saw his little head pop up in the dresser mirror, turned around but it was too late! Nothing I could do! DH and I watched him overnight, took him to the doctor the next morning just to be on the safe side and yep, a broken collarbone! I felt even worse then but they are boys and will be boys and it probably won't be the last broken bone! So you are not alone! It happens all the time!
