I talked with the doctors office today to find out the results of a u/a. They said everything was fine, no infection, but we don't know why I am having symptoms of a UTI. They also said that I had sugar in my urine so I need to go in and have a blood test to check my levels (as tonight I ate a big Christmas cookie, not cool). They also said that my stomach hardening was probably BH, but I should check in if drinking water doesn't help. A little nervous about the sugar and the prospect of bedrest. I also know that there is an increase in the blood flow during pregnancy, does anyone else ever feel like their heart is working really hard, sometimes, I can actually see my chest beating. Very strange.

I know what you mean about your heart working hard; it's a little scary. Hopefully, everything will check out! Keep drinking h20 and let us know how you're doing :)

What symptoms are you having that resemble a UTI?

As for BH contractions, dehydration can definitely cause them. I am sure you know already, but you need to drink an insane amount of water. My goal was 100 oz. a day. Some have a goal of peeing clear. Whatever it may be, have a goal/system in place in to make sure you are getting enough water. I landed in L&D on three separate occasions due to dehydration.

My heart raced quite a bit, but I noticed that during that later part of my pregnancy. Mention it to your doc next time you are there, just so that he is aware.

I noticed a racing heart or pounding heart earlier in my pregnancy - about where you are now. I upped my potassium intake (since this can be a sign of needing more, as well as nausea and vomiting deplets you AND is also a symptom of low levels of potassium). It actually helped a lot.... I still get these weird sensatons but without the pounding heart - and I've been told it's because of the babies pushing on my diaphram. I have to lay down and try to breath and relax until it's gone. I've noticed it comes up around the same time someone is moving around a TON.

I still notice my heart racing at times, it can be scary. Actually, I think I went to the ER around 18 weeks just to make sure my heart wasn't working TOO hard! (I know my hospital is probably so sick of me by now..lol)

So the raising pounding heart is normal? I notice mine a lot when I lay down for the night, I can feel my heart beat all over my body in my lips in my head everywhere! I worried about it some but just figured my heart was pumping for three people so I haven't ever mentioned it! I love this group it seem everytime I think something is wrong I read that it is happeneing to someone else :love0028:

the heart pounding is normal, and later you may also have shortness of breath. but it's a good habit to mention anything unusual/new to your doctor.

for the BH, fluid intake is a huge factor. my goal is to drink 2 liters of water a day, and I consider I'm doing good if I have very clear urine.

    good luck!

My symptoms are: it hurts in my abdominal/pelvic area when I pee, and then it burns. It sometimes burns even when I haven't peed. (sorry if TMI). It is weird because when I pee it is usually light yellow or clear but I still feel like I need to have more water. Except for this morning. What are the symptoms of dehydration that I should worry about? Thank you.

What did you do to increase your potassium. I know that bananas have a lot, but is there anything else?
