Is this signs of reflux or not?

I have a few questions about reflux? First of all Hope is eats less than Grace. I usually feed them together for night time feedings and the last couple of nights when I try to fed her she is so squirmy and she won't finish a 4oz bottle. She is definitly more gassy and fussy than her sister. She will not hardly burp and after she takes a bottle she constantly is working her tongue in out of her mouth. This is all from Hope. Now a couple of times Grace has been squirmy for her bottles and when I give them to her she will suck for a little while and start grunting and squirming and spit her formula out. We have a pedi amount friday, how can i tell so she will believe me that i think there is a problem with my girls, or is there someway that she can tell. They don't do it all the time, but seems like it is more and more often. Any suggestions or tips?

Boy, it sounds like reflux to me...Does she only squirm with the bottle? Are her poops normal?

If you doctor doesn't believe you, get a new doctor~ lol

    Let us know!

It could be, but possibly a milder case. With my reflux baby he was about impossible to settle down. He would scream for hours, arching his back flopping his arms all around. He also had quite a bit of spit up. He did finish every bottle, in fact he guzzled them, and then spit it right back up.

It is definitely worth talking to your pedi about.

Sounds like there could be some reflux going on. Good luck at the appointment, let us know what the ped says.

Sound like a milder case of reflux. Please trust your instincts...I know I failed to do so and waited until the reflux got worse. Good luck with your pedi appointment on Friday!

My girls starting with spitting up even before they came home from the hospital. Then they seemed like they wanted to eat all the time (I now know the formula soothed their esophagus). They drooled a lot. Then the crying started. They arched their backs and just cried - all the time. But they never refused a bottle. They seemed like they always wanted to eat. They would throw up from the time they ate until they ate again. I googled pediatric gastro esophagheal reflux, pediatriac reflux, different combos of basically the same thing and found a site with a great list of symptoms. Some of them you wouldn't even think would be symptoms, like the drooling, were on there. Also bad breath. I wished I save the info so I could just tell you which site to look at. If you think it is reflux, you are probably right. The meds helped a lot with their pain and uncomfortableness (?word?) and adding cereal to their bottles helped with the spitting up. My son had it too, but he just threw up all the time, without the pain. Good luck and don't back down with the Dr's.

It definitely could be reflux. I would make a point of talking to your pedi. Sounds like Kev when he was refluxing. Good luck.

My DD also does a lot of squirming and wiggling and she cries and turns red throughout many feedings. There are also many feeding where she just drinks quietly with minimal to zero crying. It is soooo confusing and I totally get your question about the ped believing you. I have discussed this on a few occasions with my ped and he initially attributed it to "her immature digestive system etc..." He basically blew us off and said he would wait to start meds. We learned a little more about GERD and reflux and went back to the same practice but a different ped and I brought it up again. He put her on Zantac which actually did not work at all. She was not a spitter uper and the week she was on Zantac she threw up every day. He then said to take her off of the Zantac and try the Enfamil A.R. (added rice) which for two weeks worked wonders. Then, all of a sudden, she started having fits again. My daughter is also a difficult burper and actually does not burp at all most of the time. Definitly bring it up to your ped and keep us posted. We have an appointment next week and I will let you know the result when I bring it up yet again. It sounds like yours is similiar to ours whereas it is not too severe, can come and go, and doesn't involve a lot of spit-up. I will say that if I take my DD to quiet place and feed her alone while shhhhushing in her ear and talking really softly to her it seems to make it better. If I am feeding both and I cannot take her to a quiet room I am sure to prop her high on her boppy and she seems to do better if I prop the bottle for her and just hold it lightly and let her manage it herself. I know this seems weird but she will sometimes calm down and eat more this way than if I am holding her. It also seems that if the flow of her formula is just the slightest bit faster it can start fits. For example, if I add a touch more powder to her bottle while she is fitting and it is a little more difficult to get through she does better. Hope that helps - although, I am also confused about whether it is just gas, her digestive discomfort, or reflux!

thanks for all your good advice. they do seem very similar. she never spits up, but we have all these other symptoms she also will get red in the face, and she drinks her bottle better if I hold her very close and put my face by hers and talk quietly to her. but if i have to tandem feed them I can barely get her to drink 2oz instead of the 4oz. But i think it is both of my babies Hope seems worse but sometimes Grace will squirm with her bottle and get red in the face and try to spit it out. I don't know it just seems like there is always something to stress about
thank you so much for your help. Keep me posted. on yours do a the doc
