Is this safe?

Yes I know I am probably crazy but I ordered these, magnetic hair clips, and now that they are on the way, I am wondering of they are safe for dd? I mean is it bad to have something magnetic on her head. Like I said, I am probably just paranoid but it was just something I was wondering.

 

I don't think the magnetic part will harm them...the thing I would be worried about would be them putting it in their mouth. I don't know, my girls have never had enough hair at this age to even worry about a hair bow! :laughing: It' would have to be glued in!

 

WOW! Those are really cool! I wouldn't think there would be a issue, but them again I'm not a expert.

 

Oh, those are really cute. I'm with Becky, I wouldn't worry about having a magnet on their head but if they were to swallow them, magnets are really bad. I would just check them over really closely to make sure the magnets are secure. Do you know if they are all one piece or two?

 

Ok, the clips came today, they are all one piece, so too big for dd to swallow. It is not the greatest pic because she is not very happy but I took one really quick to email to dh at wprk. That way he could see how cute she was with her new hairbow. Anyway, here it is if you are interested. I never put a pic on here before, sorry if it comes out too big.

She does look adorable. But I would not use it. My friends daughter swallowed a hair clip when she was an infant. It was so jagged, it could have ripped her intestines if it had moved out of her stomach. She actually had to have surgery to have it removed from her stomach. For infants and toddlers, I would stick with headbands and hair bands, they are much safer.
