Is this normal?

When I dress the girls in coordinating outfits (not matching) I have trouble deciding who gets to wear the cuter outfit. I try to alternate, but I never remember from time to time. It almost feels like I have to pick the one I like better to wear the cuter outfit and it makes me crazy. My mom said I am crazy and to not think about it and just grab one outfit and one baby. Wish I could.

So anyway, does anyone else have this issue, or am I a lunatic?

I totally agree with you and that's why we have 2 of everything! I would feel the exact same way.

I have a boy and a girl so obviously it's not the same. BUT my baby boy does tend to dress better/cuter. Mostly because it is very hard for me to find girls clothes I like. So he probably has twice as many clothes and usually I take time to dress him and her, it takes like 5 minutes.

So I kind of understand :)

Thats exactly why I dress mine alike, right down to the socks. I'm slightly anal, haha. If someone buys me two different outfits, I exchange the one for the one I like more. :)

I've been dressing mine alike (which I swore I'd never do) for this very reason. I love it when we have two outfits that are basically the same, but different colors. That helps. My girls are fraternal, so I think people think it's weird when they see them wearing the same outfit. On the other hand, I don't want the girls growing up and looking at pictures and saying, "you always put her in the cute outfit."

    You are truly !!

Just kidding!! I am the SAME WAY!! I have anxiety over having to choose who gets what, so I just dress them alike!! There are occasions when they are dressed differently, so I make dh choose who gets what so I can be guilt free for the day. What are we doing to ourselves?!?!?

I do that too, but I have relaxed about it over the months. However now my older DD wants to know why she does not match the boys

I feel the same way! In fact, I alternate which boy gets the cuter outfit depending on the day or the occasion. We have tons of coordinating outfits b/c I don't dress them alike - so just about every outfit they have is a coordinated set (except for the hand me downs from their big brother's wardrobe). It makes me crazy - I think to myself, okay, F wore the cuter outfit when we went to Target this week so S has to wear the cuter outfit to the pediatrician's office. Like we really need anything else to make us crazy! :p

i kinda had that prop but what i do now is match outfits to the color of their eyes. kayla has blue eyes go she wears any thing with blue or purple tones and Rissa has green eyes so she get the netural or green color outfits. that way it brings out their eyes and you dont see one outfit cuter than the other

Yep, I'm the same way. :D But I have a lot of hand-me-downs from my oldest daughter, so it's kind of hard to avoid sometimes. When I was pregnant with my first set of twins (that we lost to TTTS), I swore I would never dress them the same. Just maybe same outfit but different colors. But I quickly changed my mind when I was pregnant with these twins. I thought "Ya know, I'm going to celebrate their twin-ness and the miracle that it is...and I'll dress them alike if I can." Since they've been born, I've noticed it's so much easier when I can dress them in the same outfit...because then they're equally cute! So silly, I know.... I tend to dress them in different outfits more when we're at home, but try to dress them the same when we go out (or at least the same shirt).

    No, you're not a lunatic! ;)

I spent today going from store to store trying to find cute outfits for their photo session on Sunday. I was at Kohls for a good hour going back and forth. First I found two of the same outfit, then I found two coordinating outifts. I actually was going to buy both of them, but decided at the last minute to get two of the same outfit. When we're at home or just going to the store I don't care but when we see family and friends I usually dress the alike.

I like outfits that coordinate - maybe the same but a different color. I tend to think ok, last time Claire wore pink so I'll put Madison in pink and so on. That's how I decide that. I only have maybe a couple of things that are exactly the same. Probably special occasions we might dress them just alike but I like the similar look better - makes their wardrobe larger too.

Thanks guys! Now I don't feel so nuts. Wonder what my next pointless guilt trip will be about. Maybe which one sleeps on which side of the bed.

ABSOLUTELY! I always said I wouldn't dress my boys alike. But I do on most days because I'm afraid one will look cuter than the other. I also have some outfits that are similar but different colors and I don't want to put one in the color I like more because I don't want to favor them. I hold them up and let the boys pick. :D It's so funny that you think the same way too!

I always ask my son who should wear the pink, and who should wear the purple for example. That way I don't have to make the decision, and he gets to do something to help while I get the babies dressed. But yes, before I started doing that I would stress over who got to wear what, and try to find equally cute clothes for the day. I don't really have any matching clothes, I do have a few matching pajamas though.

Oh my gosh I do the same thing! Yesterday I got out two outfits for them to go to the pediatrician and I stood there looking at them for awhile because I couldn't decide who would look better in pink and who would look better in green. My husband thinks I'm crazy. I bought them each a swimsuit the other day and I was in Toys R Us forever because I had to make sure they were equally as cute, but not exactly the same. I also search and search through all of their clothes before we go anywhere because I want to try and make sure that one does not look better than the other. Then I have to make sure that my 3 year old is wearing an outift that is equally as cute as the twins because I don't want her to feel bad because they get enough attention as it is (because they are twins).

I started thinking about this yesterday when DH told me I was nuts thinking so hard about the outfits...it's only going to get worse going forward. I'm going to have to make sure that everyone's hair looks good, and that everyone has cute shoes; not to mention when they start wanting to paint their nails!

When my boys were smaller one was a little "funnier" looking than the other. So I would always dress him in the cuter outfit to kind of "help him out" - how's THAT for crazy?? Now, they're both equally adorable so I just put them in whatever. But, they do always have to be in the same shirt that they wore last time - like if we have shirts that match but one is blue and one is green... Ben will always wear the blue one and Jake will always wear the green one, etc. Dh will switch them up sometimes just to mess with me and I have to fix it... yeah, I'm a weirdo!

I have two girls and one wears pink and the other ones wears purple (if they aren't matching). My MIL likes pink better and says I put one in pretty colors and one in ugly colors, unfortunatly for her, it just makes me want to do it more esp. if I know we will see her that day! :p
I am getting on a totally different subject!
Don't feel guilty, eventually they will be picking their own clothes out!

I have a boy and I girl and I think girl clothes are way more cuter than the plain ol' boring boy clothes so I always feel like her clothes are so much better. We are getting there though with DS because he is in 18 months already and I feel there are more options than stripes and cars.

This is what I do too!! Breena has green eyes and reddish hair so she wears a lot of pink and I think she looks nice in white too. I also avoid putting her in blue since people assume she's a boy because she's 5 pounds bigger then her sister (though she has pink earrings!) Baylinn has blue eyes so she wears a lot of purple.

I do have lots of matching outfits that were hand-me-downs from other twin moms, but I prefer them to coordinate with the same outfit but different colors. Though I had two different outfits picked out for their first birthday but I couldn't decide who would wear what, so I ended up buying two of the same.

I was just trying to explain this to someone on Tuesday and I'm pretty sure they thought I was nuts. I'm glad to see I'm at least in good company. I have levels of outfits. There are the yucky ones that are mostly hand me downs or jammies, then there's the middle range for daycare which is mostly onesies and pants, then the really cute outfits. As long as they are in the same range I'm ok. Of course the really cute outfits we just have to have two.

The ones I really have trouble with are the message T's that people have given us as gifts. There is one that says Everyone's Favorite. I have to make sure to switch it out for daycare because I don't want the people to really think I favor one over the other . Now it only fits the smaller one so we are done with it.

Me too, exactly why I dress them alike (plus it's so darn cute!). I even have tons of clothes from my older DD, but I've barely used any of them because I always feel like one got the better outfit. Instead I spend MORE money buying 2 of everything, down to the shoes and hair clips!
