Hi guys, well I'm only having a singleton after twins but wanted to post here to get more advice. In the past couple months I have noticed something that is concerning me. I have a lot of pain (not SEVERE pain though) and discomfort in my belly (baby belly) most of the time. Sometimes I get sharp pains in it, sometimes I get dull aches. But almost all the time it kind of hurts. It almost feels like I have eaten a HUGE MEAL and am all bloated, even though that is not the case. It also kind of feels like there is a heavy rock in my belly and that makes it uncomfortable. It is even hard to bend down and things because of the discomfort, and I am not even that far along, only 17 weeks. It scares me a little because I felt like this a bit with my twins and it turned out I was so uncomfortable because one daughter had way too much amniotic fluid. They drained it and I felt better, but she wound up having a lot of medical problems (but that's a whole other story). I am going to ask my doctor about it in a couple weeks when I go in but I was just wondering has anyone experienced the same thing? I don't think I should feel like I am 8 months pregnant, swollen sore and uncomfortable all the time already.

I haven't experienced it but I'd call and talk to your OB if your concerned just to make sure everythingis okay.

Hope you get to feeling better!

Did you have a c-section? Could the discomfort be something related to scar tissue? Definitely something to mention to your doctor, especially with your past issue.

I did feel the bloat and fullness and I also did have sharp pains in the beginning, but no swelling or problems from my c-section. I have had three pregnancies with my twins being the first and I can say that my twin pregnancy was the easiest. I don't know if it was my age, the fact that I was in shape (not so much for the following pregnancies) or the whole pregnancy memory thing, but my singleton pregnancies were tougher... I got bigger faster, more aches and pains and discomfort, more stretch marks, less time to rest, and more kiddos to chase after! Hang in there and keep us posted on what your doctor says. Congrats on your baby!!!

I've found this pregnancy to be much much more uncomfortable so far than my twin pregnancy. I went to the ER because I was in so much pain around 14-15 weeks and was just told I was growing. I'm having to take daily baths to get rid of the aches already. My OB says your body starts off where the last one ended so if you had certain pains at the end of your last pregnancy, you will get them much sooner this time around.

    I wish you the best!
