Is this normal?

Last week I posted about my DD who is awake (happily most of the time) for HOURS at night. So for the past 3 days we have stopped her 1 hour nap. (Luckily she has been her normal self during the day and is ready for bed by 7pm). However, SHE IS STILL UP FOR ONE TO TWO HOURS EACH NIGHT! The only next step is to keep her up later, but I can’t image taking away more sleep is good for her health (they sleep 7-7:30am or later).

Again, she is happy all day and during what I call her “parties at night”. But am I alone? Is this normal? And how many years until she can move out?

My two go to bed at 8:00, have no nap, and are awake by 7 the next morning (normally). Royce reads in bed until at least 9, sometimes later. I put them in bed last night at 7:30 and told them after 30 minutes I was turning the light off and they would have to go to sleep. Alice woke up at 4:30 and Royce was a bear waking up at 7 this morning.

When is your daughter awake? Is it when they are first put into bed, was she asleep and woken up, is it the morning?

She typically wakes up between 1am-3am. I thought perhaps she was getting cold during that hour for some reason so I put a heater in her room...but no luck. Around 2:00am she was up last night until about 3:30 (maybe more, I fell asleep). I don't go in there only when she is crying (which is rare)

. If I were you I would keep her up a little later and just see what happens or like bex's Royce, leave her light on for 30 minutes or an hour and let her read books or play quietly before turning the light off. She may just be one of those people who don't require as much sleep as others? Another thing, could there be a barking neighbor dog or is her room facing a street where car lights could be waking her up?
