When we were back in Chicago for Christmas my girls started going on the big potty. They saw their cousin (who is a 2 months younger, and doing this in daycare) doing it.

We were doing great when we got home, always going poop on the potty. Samantha was even telling me when she had to pee.

A couple of weeks ago it all stopped. Samantha cries if you even try to put her on the potty. Emily will sit there but usually doesn't do anything. I even tried the little potty chairs, but that is all fun and games and no one wants to sit on the seats.

We had our 2 yr dr appt on Jan 10 and the ped told me if they show interest put them on the seat, but not to worry about pushing them yet.

I made little posters with each of their pictures and names and they get a little sticker if they go pee and a big sticker if they go poo. There is no interest in the potty anymore. Emily does sometimes, she wants to sit on the big potty, but it is always after the fact.

    Any suggestions.

We recently had our 18 month appt. with the ped...and the ped told us that if our kids were potty trained by 2 (which she said is unusual), that they may regress back at some point in time. Good luck!

We have a similar thing going on here... My boys are just a few weeks older then yours and they have been interested in the potty for a few months now. going pee here and poop there... They show signs of potty training and if they ask I put them on and they usually go potty but its not happening enough for me to stop diapers. They can not stand being ina diaper that they "used'. I just think at this stage of the game they are to young. I will however cont. to put them on the potty when they ask but im not going to push it since they are still young.

    Good luck!

A professional potty trainer told me to not even worry about serious potty training until they are 2 and a half. And here we've been on it since 16 mos!!!
