So Saturday morning I did my usual cleaning of the house (vaccuming, dusting, laundry, kitchen floors and 1 of 3 bathrooms) then went out and did a little shopping. By evening I felt like I had been hit by a Mack truck!! It took me all day Sunday to recover. Is this normal? I cant believe how horrible I felt.
Yep, totally normal. You definitely get tired/worn out more easily when carrying twins. Try and take it easy and make sure DH helps you with all that stuff, especially the housework.
when i was 20 weeks i was hitting a wall, where i couldn't do as much. it seems you're at that point now. for a frame of reference, when i was pregnant with my singleton at 20 weeks i laid a new kitchen floor in my house (without dh's help). my twin pregnancy is just harder on my body overall. i think it's normal.
Sounds about right. I haven't done any of those chores in a long time! You might wake up feeling like you can do these things, but at the end of the day, you'll feel wiped- and it only gets worse the further along you get! Good luck and make sure you get plenty of rest and let others do the housework!
QUOTE(Lesley Anne @ Sep 24 2007, 09:12 AM) So Saturday morning I did my usual cleaning of the house (vaccuming, dusting, laundry, kitchen floors and 1 of 3 bathrooms) then went out and did a little shopping. By evening I felt like I had been hit by a Mack truck!! It took me all day Sunday to recover. Is this normal? I cant believe how horrible I felt. Just be careful, some of the things you do normally around the house could actually induce pre-term labor. Vacuuming, mopping, cleaning the tub, climbing stairs (if you have any), etc. Your body has to cope with double the baby in 1/2 the time because of carrying twins, and it's a lot of weight/stress on your system. So either split the majority of it up between each day, or call in some enforcement. Either way, leave some things for your husband to do.... The babies are gonna start putting on some real weight soon, and he's gonna need to get used to helping you!!!
Unfortunately it is totally normal. In fact my doctor told me almost exactly what the PP said about your body having to adjust to more in less time. It is hard to cut back but in another couple months you body will give you no choice (mine has). Prioritize what you really want to do and break it into short spurts and make sure you can get lots of rest.
Yes, by 20 weeks I had to decide weather to do the Grocery Shopping or Clean the Kitchen, it's one or the other, doing both is too hard. Remember your body is pumping for 3, not just one. Your body has never worked so hard. Rest, Rest Rest, and don't feel guilty for it. Before you know it you may be on bedrest like me, so take it easy and don't overdo it. You may start to have BH soon, so beware and if your doing too much it makes them worse. Drink LOTS of water! Take naps and sleep in. Good luck and enjoy being able to still bend over...ha ha!
Yes, it's normal. You did alot for that day. Eventually you will find yourself physically disable to do sooo much in one day. You will have too much pressure to feel like doing anything. Hang in there & start taking it lightly!! Don't be afraid to ask for help, you deserve it right now!!
Completely normal! The funny thing is you are gonna continue doing it despite how you feel at the end of the day
