I've gained 20 pounds already so I want to watch myself to make sure I dont spiral out of control like the 80+ I gained with my son I eat every couple hours but I'm thinking about cutting out the fastfood and vending machine snacks and putting in better stuff that will work more for growing the babies instead of just making me fat=)

I had that question before and I think the all answers was protein protein protein
so I bought protein shakes and trying to drink it once a day will try to have 2 later on. might be closer to 20 -24 weeks.

not really I can only share what I was told.
    Ensure
but I bought slimfast high protein drink and I know that I was able to drink it before pregnancy so I am fine with that.
another suggestion I was told. buy the protein mix powder and add it whenever you want like your milk yogurt di the smoothy with it.
I decided to try slimfat first and so far so good. might be closer to the summer when I want to eat more fruit I will buy the powder and will do smoothy for myself.

one suggestion try to go to the store where you can buy one of each and try it out first before buying a bulk.
but I just bough 24 cans through amazon. and so far so good meaning I can drink it :)

I don't know what exactly the difference is between ensure and Carnation Intant Breeakfast, but i love the carnation. I don't think there is as much protein, but the chocolate tastes much better than Ensure, and it does have good nutritional value. It's cheaper too!!

Boost/Ensure high protein shakes, ice cold in small sips throughout the day. I drank 3 daily on the advice of Dr. Julian DeLia (TTTS specialist) as a preventative measure because I was at increased risk of PTL (didn't have TTTS). I had my boys at 33 weeks and they weighed 5.8 and 5.9. Amazing, and I know it was because of the drinks. They aren't that bad in small gulps and when they are ice cold. He stressed those two brands because that was what his research was conducted on, but I found Safeways brand to be nutritionally equivalent and good tasting so that is what I used-it was also a lot cheaper./ I only gained 40 pounds and I also ate like a horse on top of the shakes

I drank one or two Boosts a day to get some extra protein. I had a severe diversion to meat. I thought they tasted ok. I did that till about my third trimester when I knew we were all gaining weight good. I craved McDonalds fries and their orange drink so I had a hard time giving up the fast food. ;) I'm sure that didn't help the 60 lbs I gained. Good luck. Try to eat healthy, get lots of protein, drink lots of water, and treat yourself here and there. :)

Research Coconut Oil if you can. It is awsome for growing babies now and during breastfreeding. I take 3 TableSpoons a day. My guys were 6.3 and 6.13 at birth. I think the coconut oil helps a lot. And it's good for you, I lost weight using it. I gained about 30 lbs during my pregnancy but a week after I gave birth I was 10 lbs under my prepregnancy weight.

Boost and Ensure here too. One of them had a milk chocolate flavor that was yummy and one of the vanilla ones was good - i can't remember which one was which though. I love cheese too so I put that on everything. Turkey is also a lean meat and will get you protein.

I never drank protein drinks -- just didn't want to spend the money and they seemed awfully processed to me. Instead I added whey protein (bought a big jug at Whole Foods) to my milkshakes that I had every night before bed. Maybe that's not any better, but at least it was cheaper and they just tasted like regular milkshakes.

I also drank Carnation Instant Breakfast as a snack. Other good sources of protein are nuts, cottage cheese (though I couldn't get it down -- I tried), and yogurt. I also ate half a bagel with peanut butter on it while driving to work most mornings.

I drank a couple of Boost drinks everyday. They have one that has extra protein. It really seemed to help, they were born just fine. GL.

Muscle Milk is a great ready to drink. I love the choc Mint here's the link:

I also like balance bars. They have 10-15 grams of protein in each bar and it's like eating a choc bar. My favorites are mint choc chip an cookies and cream.

How do you take the Coconut oil? Do you drink it straight?
