Is the Combi lighter than the DuoGlider?

I have a used DuoGlider, which has been fine up until now. The more I read about side by side umbrella strollers, the more I want one. I have a sbs jogger, but I want something for stores, etc. I found a Combi Twin Savvy on Craigslist for $100. It looks fairly new. Is it worth getting it? Is that a good deal for a used one? Is there a better umbrella-type stroller out there, even if it costs a bit more? Does it fit through doorways ok? I usually take my DuoGlider to the doctors because of the doorway into the exam room. I'm worried the Combi won't fit.

    Thanks,
    Christie

We have both, and yes the Combi is lighter. We take the Graco when we go shopping and such, and the Combi when we go to places wide open. It is very narrow and fits through my front door, so I think it fits through most doors. We love it.

I have both and the Combi is WAY lighter and more compact than the duo glider! I love my Combi!

I LOVE my Combi. It is so light, easy to fold, and I haven't found a door yet that I couldn't fit into it. Plus I love the fact that both of my kids get to "see" everything.

I just got a Combi SBS off Craigslist and I am loving it. Before we had a new DuoGlider and a very used, cheap SBS umbrella. I was taking the sqeaky, stinky SBS in order not to have to lug the "bus" around. We've used the Combi now for the doctors, zoo, neighboorhood walks and big stores. I still get the DuoGlider out if we are going to the mall or something though because of the narrow clothing aisles. It's much bigger than the old SBS umbrella (like the Jeep ones they sell now), but that hasn't been a problem because it's so easy to use. It's simple to fold/unfold, buckle the kiddos in, and so far fits through all doors.

I went to Babies R Us to test drive one and of course they don't have it. I looked at the single Combi Savvy and I didn't love it. It seemed really flimsy and wobbly. Is the double the same way? I also looked at the Maclaren Twin Triumph and the Chicco Trevi and those looked more solid. Are those better strollers than the Combi or not? I don't want to agree to buy one without even testing one out first. Any thoughts?

    Thanks!

I like our combi twin savvy... you can look at the manufacturer websites or BRU (I think) for the weights... I remember it being in the low 20 pounds... and the Duo gliders are closer to 30 and more for the quattro.

The great feature of the combi is how it folds flat and the "rolls"... you need to see the demo at the combi website to fully appreciate it... its still large when if folds but for me it folded into a better shape to fit in my car. you can always leave it folded flat like other double wide strollers would be, but you have the option of "rolling" it so that its more square. again, hard to explain.

On another thread on here about strollers, I think about 50% have the combi side by side... not sure if that helps you.

The Savvy is regularly a $300 model - with the snack trays... the "Sport" is closer to $200. I got my Savvy for under $200 b/c it was the prior year's color... $100 is a good price if its in good condition.
