After you had your twins, how long was it before your belly no longer looked pregnant?

Just curious... I'm 5 weeks out, and my belly still looks 5 months pregnant.

It took a full year until my belly was back to being somewhat flat, and I still have extra skin that I did not have before being pregnant. But around 6 months is when I no longer was asked by strangers if I was pregnant.

it definitely takes a while for your tummy to shrink back! i think that i was looking pretty normal by 3 months out and i finally stopped wearing my maternity pants then, i could have worn regular pants earlier but the maternity ones were so comfy i wasn't really motivated!

I was back in my regular clothes around two months but I am still not close to having a flat belly. My poor belly button is now 1/2 in and 1/2 out and still looks like a snout.

I said 2 months but I was back in all my normal clothes shortly after a month. However, I am fairly certain that my belly button will never look the same again.

It probably took me a couple months to not look pregnant. From then I've been struggling with losing the last few pounds and the "twin skin" and also what's left from a c-section. Ho hum :(

I voted 3 months... that's when for the most part I'd lost most all the weight... over the next 6 months I continued to lose a few more pounds and got back and even under my pre-pregnancy weight. At about 11 months, my period returned, even though I am still breastfeeding... but I immediately gained about 5 pounds... ugh! and its all belly fat. I should have some motivation, to lose it, but the icecream calls me... ugh! good luck with you!

For me, it truly was a good 2 to 3 months until my clothes fit better... I wore a lot of my shorts w/an elastic belt kinda like one of the pregancy ones... to help keep my shorts/pants on!

Between 6 weeks & 2 months before I no longer looked pregnant. But my stomach has still not completely returned to normal. I've given up hope. :pardon:

Thanks for starting this thread - I've been curious about this as well ... My babies are three weeks old and I can fit into some of my regular clothes with the assistance of SPANX, the greatest invention ever. I don't think anyone would mistake me for pregnant, but the skin on my belly looks like it belongs on an elephant - wrinkles, wrinkles, wrinkles. I'm worried that the elasticity will never come back - at nearly 37, I am no spring chicken!

I voted 2 months, my babies are 3 weeks and 1 day and although I don't look pregnant I do look chubby in the tummy LOL. I am still not wearing my regular jeans but that's cuz of my c section incision...I don't want my jeans rubbing on it just yet. ;)

It was probably a couple of months before I quit looking pregnant and was closer to 4 months before I lost most of the pregnancy weight. I went back to work after 4 months and could (just barely) wear some of my pants from before. My belly is still not flat like it was though and I'm not sure it ever will be again.

I was back in pre-preggy jeans in 1 week. Somehow I escaped without twin skin or stretch marks, and the tummy is flat when I'm standing up.. now, when I sit down it's a different story. lol. I was 115 pre-pregnancy and was down to that weight within two weeks. I gained 55 lbs and carried them for 34 weeks. I ate really uber healthy and was pretty active(until I was put on bedrest) during pregnancy and while pumping/breastfeeding and have always been athletic and have a fast metabolism.

I checked 1 month but I was in all my pre prego clothes 2 days after coming home. My weight gain was low and it was all belly

Good to get some insight. Two weeks after babies, I was down to pre-pregnancy weight and my pants fit me everywhere except the stomach. I still have a really round stomach (which I never had before pregnancy) and am hoping it continues to go down. I also have the twin skin (ugh!), but that alone wouldn't keep me out of my pants. Maybe by 2 months...

I voted 2 months but I was back in my pre-pregnancy jeans at 5 weeks with all my kids.

I used a tight garter thingy around my stomach right after birth for a few weeks to help train my muscles to go back and it helped a lot.

I gained 40 lbs during pregnancy, was back in my pre pregnancy jeans at 4 weeks (I didn't try until then), and am now down to 4 lbs pounds below my pre pregnancy weight. People always think I am babysitting my girls and don't think they could possibly be mine. My belly is still bigger than when I got pregnant but I used to have quiet the flat stomach before!

Most days I feel like I still look 5 months preggo, but I weigh the same as I did before I got pregnant and wear the same sizes. All my weight goes right to my tummy now. I was out of maternity clothes at the end of 2 months, but did go up a size in my pants after that for a few months. Luckily my mom had gastric bypass and saved a bunch of her transition clothes so I didn't have to buy an entire new wardrobe for a few months. BTW, I've never had a flat belly!

My boys are 3 months now and I still have a belly. When I press on it it feels hard though, so I guess my muscles are either torn or haven't gone back to where they're supposed to be. Its really depressing when I try to suck it in and it doesn't work. lol

I think by 2 (maybe 3) months, I no longer looked pregnant; just fat. ;)
I gained 54 lbs during pregnancy and lost 35 in the first 2 weeks ... then gained a few back. Started doing Weight Watchers and really working out in June and am now just 7 lbs away from my goal.

I know that I am not the norm, (i did start out a little overweight) i gained 16 lbs, the boys were born at 38 weeks 1 day at 6lbs 10oz, and 6lbs 12 oz. In the first week i lost 28lbs, and i could fit into my old jeans, but they hit my c-section incision. Now i am a month out, my belly skin is still slack, but much firmer than two weeks ago. I have lost an additional 8 lbs.
