I am going to seriously lose it soon. It has been a long summer and I really can't wait until preschool starts back up again. Ethan and Brady don't listen. I am not sure if I am expecting too much but my God. I have to tell them a million times to do something, like put on their shoes if we are going out or to stop wrestling around their brother, etc. I am tired of hearing myself talk. I am raising my voice way too much and losing my temper way too much as well. 1-2-3 works O.K. Ethan is much better than Brady and will respond to my "threats" but Brady disregards me. I am not enjoying my time with them right now. I also feel like nothing I do for them is good enough. I respond to their every beck and call but it seems like nothing makes them happy these days. HELP!!!
Mine don't listen either... I swear my voice is hoarse by the end of the day from telling them things over and over... I would say it is definitely yours' age and mine as well... :hug99: I can sympathize.
I think its the age because my DD is the same way. totally disregards me. But sometime listens.. She will be 4 soon also... My DD has never... been to daycare/preschool....
Well, I can say I certainly know the feeling!!! As a kindergarten teacher, one of the hardest hardest things was having to repeat myself a gazillion times for EVERYTHING!!! Imagine having a class of 30 4 and 5 year old kids (with absolutely no assitance) where you have to repeat yourself and your directions and instructions ALL DAY, EVERY SINGLE DAY!! It can totally make you NUTS  I know it's really hard to hear yourself say the same thing over and over and over but I think it's just part of the process. Hang in there and take some deep breaths. The only thing I found to help it somewhat (and I mean only somewhat) was to be very very routined. So routined that the kids knew exactly what to do and what is expected of them but I still always had a good handful who just either didn't "get it" or didn't care. Unfortunately, a classroom situation is not the same as being home. I guess all I can do is send you some :love0028:
I am in the same boat as you are. My boys are 3 years 4 months and I feel like I am repeating myself and raising my voice all day long. I feel bad at the end of the day becauase I feel like I was crabby all day then. I feel at a loss and am also wondering what I can do to improve their listening and decrease their fighting. I definitely hope this is just the age and they are able to grow out of it.
MAN! I was also going to post this same situation. I feel like such a bad person. My Peter looked and me and said "momma not happy?!" Almost put tears in my eyes. The questions is.....Is is that I am too strict? or are they just 3. What else can be done?
Same situation here! My SIL jokes and says that 4 years old is the reward for surviving 2 and 3's, man do I hope she is right!
Same here it is definently an age thing. I am not much help but wanted you to know you are not alone!
